Title : Berzerk Arena
Filename : BERZERK.WAD
Author : Ted Vessenes
Email Address : tedv@geom.umn.edu
Misc. Author Info : I personally play DOOM for the incredible
graphics capabilities, not for the gore
                          sprites and wall textures. Consequently,
I tried to create a level that was "artistic".
Something that contains lots of pointless
                          areas that still look cool.
Author's favorite sections on the WAD: The
scenic overlook (south of the baron's room)
and the octagon room, west of the scenic
                          overlook.

Description : Starting weapon: Berzerk. This was originally
written at the time of DOOM 1.2 as a deathmatch
level. However, as it was hard to test the
deathmatch capabilities, I ended up expanding
the level. It still plays well on three or
four player deathmatch if the players know the
level marginally well. And the level, though
large, is set up so that one can get from any one
location to any other location in 45 seconds or
less. So the level hasn't lost its edge. Much
of the size goes to detail work. You'll know
what I mean when you reach the octagon room.
I suppose this is more of a history than a
description... Well, there is a somewhat large
arena in the beginning with a tower.

Additional Credits to : iD software for making the game that has stayed
in use longer than any other game I've played.
Brendon Wyber for orignally releasing the DEU
3.01, allowing us to make it the best DOOOM
                           editor to date.

Bugs: : The cacodemon near the chaingun does not pop out
of hiding when you pick up the chaingun like he
                          should.
Release Date : Feb 1st, 1995
