Here's how to install and use 3rd party sound files (or your own) 
with SGA. A Soundblaster or Soundblaster clone is required to use
.VOC sound files and you must have the Sound, Graphics, and 
Aircraft upgrade (SGA) installed in FS4.

The first time you install a new sound in SGA, you'll need to 
make a second set of .VOC files, duplicating the original .VOC 
files for those sounds you don't have yet in new .VOC files. 
Otherwise you'll have dead air on some or most of the sounds. Log 
on to your FS4 subdirectory and enter the following commands at 
the Dos prompt;

copy crash.voc crash2.voc
copy explosio.voc explosi2.voc
copy gear_dn.voc gear_dn2.voc
copy gear_up.voc gear_up2.voc
copy gun.voc gun2.voc
copy jet1.voc jet2.voc
copy prop.voc prop2.voc
copy screetch.voc screetc2.voc
copy splash.voc splash2.voc
copy thunder.voc thunder2.voc

Now copy any new sounds you collect to one of the *2.voc files shown 
above. For example, if you download a 747jet.voc engine sound from 
FSFORUM, copy it to jet2.voc in your FS4 subdirectory and that'll 
be your new jet engine sound. Keep a copy of the original 747jet.voc 
file under its original name in case you download another jet engine 
sound later and want to try it out.

Boot up FS4, load the user defined set of sound files on the 1,K 
menu and you should be ready to roll with the new sounds. 

You can also copy the original .voc files to different names to suit 
your setup. For instance, if you use the floatplane a lot, copy 
splash.voc to screetch.voc (or screetc2.voc if you're using user 
defined sounds) and you'll hear a realistic splash when landing the 
floatplane instead of the tire chirp.

BUGS, QUIRKS

A few times I noticed that a new prop engine sound didn't load when 
booting up FS4, even with the user defined sound set active. Instead,
I heard the default prop sound. After hitting 1,K,<spacebar> the new 
prop2.voc engine sound kicked in.

Some new sound files will require more memory than the original SGA 
sounds. Check the file sizes of the .VOC file and watch out for the 
low memory symptoms discussed in the SGAHLP.TXT help file in FSFORUM 
LIBrary 2.
