Just to make a small point; the capsule was man rated, but Arianespace never
bothered to do the detail designs on man-rating the Ariane IV launcher.

I believe that the Ariane V is going to be man-rated from the start (for the
Hermes program).

[Just for all those despairing about the lack of man-rated expendables...
with any luck one of my projects will lead to proposing to man-rate the
Pegasus ... ].
