Someone recommended it to me (I forget who, but THANKS), and I've been trying to locate it ever since, with no luck. I can't get a phone number for the publisher, either. If anyone has a copy they would be willing to sell, or knows where to get one, I would greatly appreciate knowing -- I'm willing to pay $5 for the book. No significant problems have been reported. Ongoing Pad A activities are not affecting SYNCOM's stability. The payload canister is scheduled to be moved after the Thanksgiving weekend. SYNCOM is the first payload to go to the newly-refurbished Pad A, which was last used in January, 1986. It is scheduled to be installed in Columbia's payload bay the end of next week. The Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF) cradle, which will be used for down processing upon the spacecraft's return to KSC after STS-32, is in Hangar AO on the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Over the next few weeks, processing will move into "Phase 2" of processing activities for this unique mission, which requires support for both a payload to be deployed and the return of LDEF. The team will begin implementation of procedures for LDEF's processing and de-integration at KSC. This work will in- volve operations in the Orbiter Processing Facility, the Opera- tions and Checkout (O & C) Building, and the Spacecraft Assembly and Encapsulation Facility (SAEF) No. 2. ------------------------------ Date: 25 Nov 89 08:12:18 GMT From: cs.utexas.edu!samsung!shadooby!mailrus!jarvis.csri.toronto.edu!ists!yunexus!utzoo!henry@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu (Henry Spencer) Subject: Re: Blood analyser flown on Mir In article ESC1325@ESOC.PROFS (Lutz Massonne, +49-6151-886-701) writes: >I just wonder whether it will be possible on US (or European) missions >to use nearly standard earth-lab equipment. The insane 20kHz power supply has been scrapped (finally!) in favor of plain old DC (why not 400Hz AC??) as part of the latest round of cuts. Now this is one cut I approve of... Of course, it still won't be possible to use standard lab equipment on the "international" space station -- it doesn't cost enough. -- That's not a joke, that's | Henry Spencer at U of Toronto Zoology NASA. -Nick Szabo | uunet!attcan!utzoo!henry henry@zoo.toronto.edu ------------------------------ Date: 25 Nov 89 19:46:48 GMT From: thorin!cezanne!leech@mcnc.org (Jonathan Leech) Subject: Re: Antimatter Drives.
