Therefore, in order to use Live-Chat you must have a phone connected to the same line as your modem. When the system is ready you will be asked if you have a phone availible. If you do, then you should should enter "Y". If not, or you don't want to talk to the SYSOP enter "N" and you will be returned to the BBS. If you told Live-Chat that you had a phone, Live-Chat will then begin to page the SYSOP. If he doesn't reply there is no futher action required to be taken by you. You will be returned to the BBS. If the SYSOP responds to the page you will be instructed to pick-up your phone and stand-by. Live-Chat will then cut the "MODEM" connection and you may begin talking to the SYSOP. When you are finished with your conversation the SYSOP will tell you to get your modem ready. This can be done in a number of ways. The first and best way is to just type "ATO" at your terminal. When you hit {enter} your modem will respond to the tones presented by the BBS. Another way you can do this is to tell your communication software to just dial any number. The SYSOP will hear the tones associated with the number you dialed and will know you are ready to hook-up. Problems: If you have a smart modem, you may see the result code of "NO DIALTONE" or the number "6". If this is the case you should use the line "ATX1DT1".
