Audio Jukebox - Version 1.00 Copyright © 1992 by Lantz/Weaver Consulting, Inc. INTRODUCTION There are a number of applications that play Wave Audio and MIDI files, but the user in- terfaces are all "serious". The Audio Jukebox is a more fun alternative to playing sounds under Windows 3.1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS This application requires a 1024x768x256 color display, Windows 3.1 (or higher) and the hardware required to play Wave Audio or MIDI sound. Versions are available for both small and large font drivers. INSTALLATION The Jukebox is installed by running the SETUP.EXE file included with the product. You will be asked to provide a source and destination directory, which may be the same. You will also be asked to provide some simple initialization information: -- whether you want the Jukebox to recognize and play MIDI (.MID) files. -- whether you want the Jukebox to recognize and play Wave Audio (.WAV) files. -- the directories where you keep your MIDI and Wave Audio files. -- your registration key if you are a registered user. This information can easily be added or changed once the Jukebox is running. SETUP The Jukebox needs to know the directory where your Wave Audio (.WAV) and MIDI files are lo- cated. The Wave Path and MIDI Path commands in the File menu are used to change the Wave and MIDI directories. The "Set Default" option on the directory selection screen is used to make the Jukebox memorize the location of the directories between uses. The Options menu allows you to choose whether the Jukebox is operating in Wave Audio, MIDI mode or both. The MIDI option turns on and off MIDI mode; the WAVE Audio option turns on and off Wave Audio mode. Both may be on at the same time. The AutoStart option controls whether the power switch is off or on when the Jukebox starts up. It is initially on. The AutoPlay option controls whether the music or sound begins as soon as you select a file, or whether the Jukebox waits until you press the play control. It is initially set off. Your settings for AutoStart and AutoPlay are retained between Jukebox sessions. PLAYING MUSIC DON'T FORGET TO TURN ON THE POWER SWITCH IF IT IS OFF! If you have set Wave and MIDI directories and turned on WAVE or MIDI under the Options menu, you will see the names of the songs appear on the Jukebox panel. Click on the song you want to hear and then use the player control panel to play, pause or stop the sound. Wave Audio choices are on red buttons, MIDI on blue buttons. The Jukebox will continue to play if minimized. REGISTRATION The Audio Jukebox is offered as shareware, with a single user price of $20 per copy. Un- registered users are given a reminder screen after every three songs.
