SYMPTOMS
========
 
Try to connect to a share on an OS/2 or Windows for Workgroups
computer. Use the NET command and let it prompt you for a password. If
the password has any extended characters, you are not able to gain
access to the share.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
The NET command destroys ALT key sequences.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
Enter the password on the NET command line, using the ALT key for
extended characters.
 
STATUS
======
 
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version
3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
