The Media Vision ProAudio Spectrum sound card driver, included with
Windows NT, is not able to control the volume of an audio compact disc
(CD) playing through the sound card.

The Volume Control application (in the Accessories group) will have no
effect on the volume of the CD Player application (also in the
Accessories group). The driver can, however, control the volume level
of waveform (.WAV) and Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI)
sounds.
