SUMMARY
=======

Currently, Microsoft Windows NT version 3.1 does not include
redirection connectivity to Novell NetWare servers. Novell is
currently developing a requester for Windows NT that will allow
Windows NT client workstations to connect to NetWare servers. Novell
released beta versions of this requester based on specific builds of
Windows NT. Each specific beta requestor works correctly only with the
Windows NT beta version for which was written.

NOTE: Windows NT does come with NWLINK, which should not be confused
with the requester Novell is developing. NWLINK allows use of Windows
NT as an application server with current MS-DOS, Windows, or OS/2
NetWare clients (for applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, SNA
Server, and RPC supporting SPX and Novell NetBIOS over IPX). NWLINK
does not support the ability to do remote file and print input/output.

MORE INFORMATION
================

The latest build of the beta NetWare requester for Windows NT is
available on CompuServe in the NOVFILES forum. The latest version
works only with beta build 438 of Windows NT. Support for the NetWare
requester is available only from Novell. Type "go ndsg" (without the
quotation marks) to request technical support from Novell.

To get the latest beta version of Novell's NetWare requester for
Windows NT:

1. Connect to CompuServe.

2. Type "go novfiles" (without the quotation marks).

3. Select Client Kits.

4. Select Windows NT Versions.

At the present time, Novell supports a limited number of network
adapter drivers with its requester for Windows NT. Novell's requester
for Windows NT works only with the network cards for which it has
included drivers. There is no support for any other adapter cards. The
following is a list of the supported network adapter cards. This list
is for the most recent publicly available requester.

   IBM Token-Ring
   3Com 3C503
   3Com 3C507
   3Com 3C509
   Novell NE1000
   Novell NE1500T
   Novell NE2
   Novell NE2_32
   Novell NE2000
   Novell NE2100
   Novell NTR2000

With its current requester, Novell includes a text file (NNT438.TXT)
that contains installation instructions and supported network adapter
card information. Customers can refer to NNT438.TXT for installation
instructions specific to their hardware configurations.

NetWare is manufactured by Novell, a vendor independent of Microsoft;
we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this products'
performance or reliability.
