TITLE :Data Corruption with Quantum LPS240 IDE Controller
PRODUCT :Windows NT
PROD/VER:3.10
OPER/SYS:WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Windows NT operating system, version 3.1
 - Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server, version 3.1
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Older firmware versions in the Quantum LPS240 IDE controller can
corrupt data or return incorrect data even though the data on the
drive is correct.

To determine the kind of disk you are using, run Registry Editor
(REGEDT32.EXE) and look at the following:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\hardware\devicemap\atdisk

Under each controller listed, there should be a key for each disk
controlled. Under the disk key, the value entry form identifier
generally has a string with the make of the drive. The firmware value
entry should have the firmware revision for that drive.

Quantum LPS240 should have a firmware revision of 6.x or later.
Earlier versions of this drive may need to be returned to the
manufacturer since the 6.0 firmware requires a PCB swap on the drive.
