Chicago is the largest city in Illinois. It is a
grain, steel, rail, and commerce center. As a
grain center, Chicago is the world's largest grain
market. Traders by and sell wheat, corn, and
other grains at the Chicago Board of Trade. As a
steel center, the Chicago area is the greatest
producer of steel in the country. Ore boats haul
iron ore, limestone, and coal to feed the blast
furnaces. As a rail center, Chicago handles more
freight trains than any other city in the world.
Its busy freight yards include the 190 acre Cor-
with Yard of the Santa Fe Railway. All of this
combines to make Chicago one of the worlds largest
            cities of commerce.
