            Auckland is the largest city and chief seaport   of 
            New  Zealand.   It  lies on a strip of land between 
            Waitemata Harbor  and  Manukau  Harbor.   The  city 
            serves as the market center of a rich dairy, sheep, 
            timber region.  It also is a transportation center. 
            The Auckland Harbor Bridge, major roads, and  rail- 
            roads link Auckland with its suburbs  and  outlying 
            areas.   Auckland  also  has ship yards and a major 
            airport.  The city is New Zealand's  chief  indust- 
            rial center.   Major industries in the area produce 
            clothing, foods, household goods, iron  and  steel, 
            shoes,  and textiles.  Auckland has spacious parks, 
            gardens, and recreational areas.  It also  includes 
            major universities, libraries, and museums.
