Hiya Ben ... great name you've got!! <grin>

** Quoting Ben Coleman to All, dated 21-Dec-92 **
BC> Is there such a capability as a LOCAL download?
BC>
BC> If so, how?

Yes & No.

BC> We are currently running a Network between 3 computers,
BC> one being the BBS and the other two being support for
BC> the
BC> files areas. Rather than shelling out all the time to
BC> grab
BC> a file, is there a way (apart from a File Xfer Door) to
BC> 'download' the file locally to a local drive ?
BC>

Have a Type 7 restricted to sysop only and have a batch called localdl.bat like
this:

@echo off
REM LOCALDL - Download a file locally
echo: Please specify the file you want. ie: DL 12345678.890
prompt File$g
command.com

and then a file called DL.BAT
@echo off
echo Locally Downloading %1
copy %1 d:\path >nul
echo %1 has been sent to your default path
exit

of course you could have DL 12345678.890 /m3 or /m2 depending on which machine
you want it on.

Hope that helped!

> TO ALL REGISTRATION AND OFFICIAL SUPPORT SITES

After a few corrections and deletions, here is what I have for Zone 1 Support
List. This is the second posting. If there are any corrections PLEASE let me
know either in this echo or by Netmail. This list will be posted once more by
the end of the year for a final correction. If there are any more deletions or
corrections, PLEASE let us know. This list needs to be correct for several
reasons such as the new release, and changes in Zone 1 registration policy in
the new year. I need to hear from all sites, even if their information is
correct, so I will know it is accurate.

If you have any knowledge of descrepancies in this list. Please post a messge

BC> Having a slight problem that SOMEONE out there may be able
 BC> to help me with.

BC> I'm running two set's of ANSI screens. One for the faster
BC> callers and one for the slower (2400 and down) callers.
BC> I give the users and option on which set they prefer as the
BC> more detailed ANSI screens are better although slower to
BC> display. Now the problem is - I have an option that allows
BC> me to activate a questionairre that will toggle the flags of
BC> the users. D1 ON allowing them access to FAST ANSI
BC> D2 ON allowing them access to DETAILED ANSI

BC> The Questionairre (there are two of them) swaps, or TOGGLES
BC> the flags on and off so that only one of the two flags are set
BC> on. I do this with the one option that checks for FLAG D1. If
BC> it's on.. it activates the questionairre to turn it off and
BC> vica versa. I do this by having TWO options with the same
BC> hotkey, one checks for D1 to be on, the other D2. Now going
BC> by MENU laws, only the option that they have the flag to will
BC> be activated, thing is, it's NOT happening like that!

BC> A better view of what I am trying to explain:

BC> MENU OPTION COMMAND LINE HOTKEY FLAGS

 BC> EXEC. QUES. ANSI-F T D1 ON
 BC> D2 OFF EXEC. QUES. ANSI-S T D1
 BC> OFF D2 ON
BC> Now.. ANSI-F.Q-A sets FLAG D1 to be OFF/D2 to be ON
BC> ANSI-S.Q-A sets FLAG D2 to be OFF/D1 to be ON

BC> The User should only be able to activate ONE of the options
BC> as they will only have ONE of the FLAGS activated (or on).
BC> SBBS only activates the FIRST MENU OPTION of the two, not

This allows me to call my EXEBBS.bat file from my mailer for all connects,
