Refs 7.1
========

24 October 1993

Introduction
------------

Refs is a program for creating browsing and maintaining academic
reference databases. The program uses the common ASCII Unix refer file
format and so is compatible with Unix refer, and also bibliography programs
such as WinRefer.

Refs can also import data files in other formats, in an easily expandable
way. Modules are supplied to read ISI and Medline files.

It is shareware, and the distribution should contain the following files:

        REFS.EXE The program itself
        REFS.HLP The help file
	REFS.INI	INI file
TEST.REF	Example Unix refer data file
	IMPBIDS.DLL	BIDS (ISI) Import DLL
	IMPMED.DLL	Medline Import DLL
	IMPCHEM.DLL	Chemical Abstracts Import DLL
        CTL3D.DLL Microsoft 3D library
	INSTALL.EXE	Installation program
	INSTALL.INI	Installation INI file.
        README.TXT This file

The program will work with Windows 3.1 or higher.

Changes since Refs 7.0:
-----------------------

* Installation now performed by the program INSTALL.EXE
* Refs now uses CTL3D.DLL instead of BWCC.DLL
* Registered users can now upgrade simply by downloading the new version.
* The %E editor field is explicitly supported.
* Bug in Main List options fixed. Behaviour of all dialogs adjusted and
   improved.
* Sorting changed: Sorting now also utilises your language driver, so will
sort in a manner appropriate to your Windows language setting.

Mats has vastly improved IMPCHEM.DLL
