Signet Software's Compuserve Stock Utilities(CSU) for Windows

Note: CSU.EXE runs under Windows v3.1 and requires the Visual Basic runtime
module VBRUN300.DLL to be installed in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If you
don't have VBRUN300.DLL installed on your system you will need to download
this from Compuserve separately as follows:
Log on to CIS in terminal emulation mode(from Special Menu of CIM or
WINCIM). Then type in the following commands to locate the file VBRUN3.ZIP

 GO IBMHW
 select 3 Libraries(files)
 select 4 (Gen. Hardware)
 select 1 browse
 press enter for current library
type the keyword VISUAL for your search
press enter until the file VBRUN3.ZIP appears
 type DOW to download
type VBRUN3.ZIP as the file name
press enter to start the download
when download is finished type BYE twice to log off
unzip the file VBRUN3.ZIP to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory

Follow the remaining directions to install and run the CSU program files.

Directions for WINCIM & DOS CIM users and CSU.EXE conversion utility:

    1. Make a directory on your hard drive named CSU and copy all program
       files to this directory

    2. Log onto Compuserve with CIM or WINCIM - Get All Quotes - when the
quotes appear on the screen press Alt F and Save As to a file named
       STKS.PRN

    3. Add CSU.EXE to one of your Program Managers groups in Windows using
the FILE NEW option. Run the CSU.EXE program.

    4. Specify in input field A. the complete path of the saved "STKS.PRN"
file that you saved in step 2. This should be in the format
        [drive:\][path\][filename]
        Examples:
        C:\CSERVE\STKS.PRN
        or
        C:\CSERVE\WINCIM\STKS.PRN
this will vary depending in which directory CIM or WINCIM is installed

    5. Specify in field B. where to send the converted output file for
use by Quicken or other programs. This should also be in the format
[drive:\][path\][filename] which specifies the destination for the
converted quotes - if using Quicken this will either be your Quicken
       program or data directory.

       Examples:
       C:\QUICKENW\C.
       D:\QUICKEN4\C.

    6. Specify in field C. where to send a second output for use in other
       programs such as spreadsheets.
       Examples:
       C:\123R4W\DATA\C.PRN
       or
       C:\EXCEL\C.TXT

Note: Leave field B. or C. blank if you don't want to send its converted
           output file.

     7. Click Convert to start conversion. You should see each of your
stocks scroll in the display window as they are converted.

     8. Check Run Automatically and Save Settings if you want the
conversion program to convert on loading and then automatically
        quit when finished.

     9. Check History File if desired - this creates a text file for use in
the bonus Lotus 123 charting spreadsheet that comes with the
registered program. This feature is optional and is not required
to make the converted output files from fields B. or C. The history
file is saved as CHISTORY.PRN in the CSU program directory.

Note: Click on Save Settings with any changes you make. Your settings
will also be saved automatically with each successful conversion.

    10. Quit

    11. Load Quicken for DOS or Windows and Press Ctrl-U then Ctrl-I and
use the single letter C for the import filename. Note: If the single
letter C doesn't work for the input filename then type in the
complete path and filename you entered in field B. from step 5 above.
Note: When importing, Quicken either looks in its program directory
or its data directory, so if the single letter C doesn't work try
adjusting path specified back in step 5 until it does.

    12. In Lotus use the /FIN option(File Import Numbers) to import the
converted file. Once again if you specified the path correctly to
Lotus data directory you should be able to type in the single letter
        C. Note: Lotus looks for imports that have the file extension .PRN
and Excel looks for imports that have the extension .TXT - using the
extension your program is looking for when you name the file in step 6
will make the import easier for you.
