                              TriLogger Beta

First things first!! This is a BETA version of TriLogger which means it is
under a test. There may still be bugs but nothing that should harm your
system. If you encounter any errors or want any additions made please
contact the support board. When TriLogger is released it WILL be released as
FreeWare so you can use it as long as you wish without payment. It is not
and will not be crippled with special keys or NAG screens like 'Unregistered
version'.

TriLogger is a last callers bulletin that can be used as the log on screen or
as a stand alone bulletin. It has some nice features and is very
configurable. If you run a MultiNode BBS (TriBBS) it will show who is on
line and who has been on line. An example of the display is shown later in
this doc. The sysop also has the ability to reward special people by placing
a character by thier name if they meet certain criteria. Almost all the
colors that are used are sysop configurable. The setup is rather simple but
the configuration files is long.

SETUP:
     Put TRILOG.EXE in your path. Then using an ASCII editor create a
configuration file (any name) with the following information.

Line 1 is the Header you want at the top of your bulletin
Line 2 is the name of the ASCII Bulletin to Create
Line 3 is the name of the ANSI Bulletin to Create
Line 4 is the number of calls to log (10 is probably enough)
Line 5 is Log Local Calles 1=NO 0=YES
Line 6 is the level and below that will not be logged. If a new user is a
       level 5 then Levels 5 on down will not be logged. This is a good idea
      just incase you have someone who logs on with a colorful name!
Line 7 is the @MORE@ prompt flag 0=NO 1=YES.  If set to 1 then a @MORE@
       will be issued at the bottom of the bulletin.
Line 7 is the Header Color
Line 8 is the Time On Column Color
Line 9 is the Time Used Column Color
Line 10 is the Date On Column Color
Line 11 is the User Column Color
Line 12 is the City / State Column Color
Line 13 is the Connect Speed Column Color
Line 14 is the Node Column Color
Line 15 is the OnLine Color
Line 16 is the Denote Flag. This is were you can reward your users. Sort of
        put thier name up in lights. If you DO NOT wish to use this
        feature then enter a 0 and save the file. If you use it these are
        the codes you can use:
        B - Number of K-Bytes uploaded
        M - Number of Messages entered
        S - Security level
        U - Files Uploaded
Line 17 is the value to check. If you have selected S and your registered
        users are a level you might want to use 20 for the value. Then each
        registered user will stick out. You can use any value you want with
        either of the selectors. B is for K-bytes
Line 18 is the Denote character to use. We use an astrick '*' but you can
        use what ever you wish. So each user that meets the Denote value
        will have an * by thier name.
Line 19 is the Denote character color. We use blinking white.
Line 20 is the Denote text. Line 1 of 2 and 2 is optional. This is where
        you get to explain why people have an * by thier names. We use
        'Denotes users who have uploaded 15 or more files'
Line 21 is the Denote text line 2. Use this incase line 1 is not enough.
        The denote text should not be any more than 70 characters each. If
        you do not need the second line just enter a blank.
Line 22 is the Denote text color.

Color codes:
1 = Red
2 = Green
3 = Yellow
4 = Blue
5 = Magenta
6 = Cyan
7 = White
8 thru 14 are the same as above but are blinking. Ie; 10 would be a
Blinking Yellow.

I recommend that you use a Blinking Color for the OnLine Color and the Denote
character only. This is the color that is use to flash "On-Ln" so blinking
makes it stick out. This is better if you are running 2 nodes but will be
okay on 1 node to. The "On-Ln" will be replaced with the time used once a
user logs off.

Now if you don't have a LOGON.BAT or BETWEEN.BAT in your TriBBS directory you
will need to create them. These are the examples. They are almost identical
except for the word OFF in the between.bat. THIS MUST BE PRESENT OR TRILOG
WILL SHOW ALL USERS ONLINE EVEN AFTER THEY HAVE LOGGED OFF!! The first
command calles up TriLog and C:\UTIL\TRILOG.CFG is the Drive, path and name
of your TriLog.CFG file.

Example LOGON.BAT
TRILOG C:\UTIL\TRILOG.CFG
BOARD

Example BETWEEN.BAT
TRILOG C:\UTIL\TRILOG.CFG OFF

Once you have this it is ready to run. Depending on your setup your output
will look a bit like this:

                          My Place BBS Last 10 Callers

Time  Time  Date
 on used on User City / State Speed Node

      A special thanks from the sysop. Thanks for the support!

                    TriLogger Support Board -- 205-347-5297

There is a Clear Screen sent before the screen is displayed and a MORE prompt
added at the end of the screen. These are hard coded into the program but if
there is a request it can be added to the configuration file.

Errors are trapped and a TriLog.err file is created.
