June 1992 -- PC Expo, New York, NY--UniStor Corporation today announced the
introduction of their new EasyStor Portable Data Module (PDM) for IBM PC
and compatible computers. Battery powered EasyStor PDMs provide up to
three hours of operation on a single charge and range in capacity from 40
megabytes (MB) to 180 MB. EasyStor's revolutionary design allows
connection to any standard parallel port and is fully operational within
minutes.

"With the availability of a PC in virtually every business location in the
world, transportability of data has become a key issue, " said Brian
Cortright, UniStor's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The ability
to access important files while traveling to multiple locations, as well
as the applications required to run them, is now a primary concern for
professionals on the go. Notebooks and other portable computers may not be
optimal solutions due to the inconvenience of size and weight; limited
disk capacity or computing capability; or most importantly, cost.
Removable cartridge drives also have the same limitations," added
Cortright.

Nearly all of the worldwide installed base of 100 Million+ PCs have an
industry standard parallel port. Of these, more than half are DOS-based.
EasyStor provides the ability to easily and economically transport data
between DOS-based PCs in different locations, and is an inexpensive means
to increase the storage capacity of notebook, portable, or desktop PCs.
EasyStor PDMs also provide users with the convenience and security
benefits of a cartridge or optical drive without the drawbacks of expense
and performance degradation, incompatibility, or complicated
installation.

EasyStor PDMs attach directly to any standard parallel port by means of a
parallel to IDE interface connection. An optional parallel port
multiplexer cable is available to allow connection of a printer or other
parallel devices while the EasyStor PDM is in use. The cable also provides
extended connection for applications where direct attachment is not
practical due to space limitations.

UniStor's EasyStor measures 3.8" X 1.3" X 6.9" and weighs less than one
pound. The EasyStor PDM takes advantage of patented Areal 2.5-inch disk
drive technology featuring rugged, high-impact glass disks that offer much
higher shock and vibration specifications than traditional disk media.
Areal glass technology also offers smaller size, lower power consumption,
and reduced heat dissipation.

EasyStor's patent pending design features the latest in single ASIC
technology coupled with intelligently designed power management circuitry
in a completely sealed, durable plastic case with a 150 G shock rating. A
rechargeable NI-CAD battery sub-system provides up to three hours of
portability. For notebook and portable computers, a unique design feature
allows the EasyStor PDM to "sleep" whenever the notebook transfers to the
sleep mode, further extending battery life.

Special device driver software, included with EasyStor, configures the
user's PC to recognize and accept EasyStor as an additional on-line data
storage device. Users need only configure their PC once, thereafter the PC
will automatically recognize the EasyStor PDM upon installation. Minimal
memory capacity is needed for the device driver. EasyStor also provides
added security with built-in data encryption and personalized password
protection.

EasyStor PDMs are available from UniStor authorized distributors and
resellers, or directly from UniStor. Initial capacities include 40, 60,
80, 120, and 180 MB with recommended list prices of $599, $699, $799,
$999, and $1199 respectively. EasyStor PDMs are backed by a one-year
warranty.

UniStor is a multinational organization specializing in the storage
peripheral segment of the computer industry. Founded in 1986, UniStor has
become a leader in supplying the computer industry with comprehensive data
storage solutions. Evolving quickly into a vertically integrated company,
UniStor now consists of five separate divisions located in California (two
divisions), Colorado, Hong Kong, and Russia.
