PC Expo, New York, NY--Norton Publishing Company today announced initial
shipments of OnTheJob Employee Scheduling Software for Microsoft Windows.
OnTheJob combines powerful scheduling capabilities with an intuitive,
easy-to-learn Windows interface. OnTheJob schedules employees by matching
the skills, availability, and preferences of employees with employer job
requirements. OnTheJob can also improve schedule quality, reduce company
overtime costs, and provide for fast handling of crisis situations.

"Harrahs is currently using OnTheJob to schedule most of the 500 dealers in
our Table Games Department," said Tom Doherty, Floor Supervisor for
Harrahs Resort in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, "We have already realized time
savings in producing employee schedules and associated reports. The
Windows interface is very intuitive and easy to learn," added Doherty.

OnTheJob attacks the often complex problem of employee scheduling by first
having the user enter key attributes for the jobs and employees to be
scheduled. Job attributes include the job date and time, job skills
required, and the number of work hours. Employee attributes include
employee preferences for work days and time periods, job skills, scheduled
days off, vacations, weekly hours, etc.

Once the job and employee attributes have been entered, OnTheJob creates
optimum schedules by matching employee and job attributes. A governing set
of matching rules, established by the employer, are also considered in
completing an optimum schedule.

Marriott Corporate Services plans to use OnTheJob to schedule 55 employees
who provide food service support at Honeywell Corporation in Phoenix,
Arizona. "I'm excited about Norton's new OnTheJob software," said Dick
Carr, General Manager for Marriott Corporate Services at Honeywell
Commercial Flight Systems in Phoenix, "OnTheJob's design is considerably
more efficient and easier to use than other scheduling software I've
worked with," added Carr. Marriott also services other corporate clients
throughout the U.S.

According to Ron Norton, President of Norton Publishing, "Early users have
found OnTheJob software has a very short learning curve, and these
organizations are realizing substantial cost savings--more efficient
overtime management is just one example."

OnTheJob requires an IBM or compatible PC (80286 or higher) running
Microsoft Windows version 3.0 or 3.1. Suggested retail pricing is $495 and
includes a 30-day unconditional money-back guarantee. An 800# is available
for technical and customer support.

Norton Publishing was founded in 1989 to provide unique employee oriented
products to enhance productivity and provide for greater efficiency and
lower costs to employers.
