June 22, 1992 -- Minneapolis, MN--lmage-ln, Inc. announced today that it is
now shipping the 3.1 version of its line of high end, robust color imaging
software. The upgrade was to be ready in April, but was delayed to fine
tune last minute improvements.

The 3.1 version of Scan & Paint, Image-ln-Color, and Image-ln-Color
Professional adds many new features and improvements that take full
advantage of Windows 3.1. These new features include: JPEG compression,
KODAK PhotoCD file support, direct export to the Kodak XLT7720 printer,
anti-aliasing of a selection, additional filters, and additional support
of input devices including multimedia video and color scanners.

Roy S. Ostenso, President, states "The release of version 3.1 maintains
Image-ln's leadership role in the Windows 3.x environment for image
editing software. It is Windows 3.1 compatible including drag and drop
support, as well as remaining compatible with Windows 3.0. Microsoft Pen
Windows is also supported, including pressure sensitivity. Version 3.1 is
the first Windows 3.x product to offer JPEG compression and anti-aliasing.
It also leads the industry in the number of supported input devices,
including over 50 different scanner models from over 16 manufacturers."

The JPEG file compression option allows the users to determine the balance
between file size and loss of image quality when the image is saved. This
has been the most requested option from Image-ln's installed user base.
Kodak PhotoCD file support allows the user fast access to professional
quality images stored on the Kodak PhotoCD. Antialiasing eliminates the
jaggies previously associated with selecting a masked area. No other
Windows based image editing software offers this feature.

In response to the need for the faster output speeds required in the
professional color environment, Image-ln directly exports the image to the
KODAK XLT7720 series printers. Print speed improvement is in the range of
8-10 times faster. An 8 x 10 inch color page will print in less than 4
minutes. Version 3.1 also adds support for many new input devices,
including the Digital MD30C Color Scanner, Canon CJ-10 and Mitsubishi
SC7500.

The 3.1 version will be available free to all registered owners of
Image-ln-Color, Image-In-Color Professional and Scan & Paint who purchased
it on or after March 1, 1992. Purchasers before March 1, 1992 may upgrade
for $50.00 including shipping and handling.

Scan & Paint, Image-ln-Color, and Image-ln-Color Professional are developed
by CPI of Geneva, Switzerland (41 22-343-6800), and are distributed in
North America by Image-ln, Incorporated.
