DAUPHIN TECHNOLOGY PROVES LESS EQUALS MORE

5.5 Ib. Dauphin 5000 Series Pentop offers less weight, more features

The Dauphin 5000 Series Pentop Computer being demonstrated at PC Expo June
23-25 in New York offers more features than most other pen-based computers
available today, yet it weighs less. At only 5.5 Lbs. including batteries,
the Dauphin 5000 Pentop pushes mobile computing possibilities to new
limits.

Dauphin offers the only unit of its kind that supports pen technology along
with a full bank of advanced notebook features.

"It is not, however, just a notebook with a pen thrown on," says Alan Yong,
President and Chief Executive Officer. "The Dauphin 5000 is the most
advanced pen computer to come along. It is a new kind of computer, far
more versatile than the traditional notebook or any pen-based system
available today."

Yong points out key Dauphin 5000 Series Pentop features:

* Dual BIOS that supports DOS-based and pencentric
  operating systems
* Flip-up/flip-down screen
* Choice of internal floppy disk drive or PCMCIA slot
* 2MB RAM expandable to 18 MB
* 60MB hard disk drive upgradable to 130MB
* Backlit, pagewhite 640 x 480 VGA
* Advanced power management
* Simultaneous internal and external video display.

Allan J. Castillo, Executive Vice President for Dauphin, explains that the
flip-up/flip-down screen allows for simultaneous video display and also
provides the user a comfortable position for pointing and writing or
gesturing. He further points out that the system ships with a small
external keyboard; the user can choose between pen and keyboard input, or
use both at the same time.

"Many industry experts are praising Dauphin's technological contribution to
the penbased market," Castillo states. In addition to the key features
listed above, the Dauphin 5000 Series Pentop holds a full complement of
l/O ports including parallel, serial and PS/2 style external keyboard
port; external analog monitor port with up to SuperVGA support (800 x 600
-256 colors); a floppy disk drive port supporting an external 5-1/4" drive
and a 100-pin, 16-bit system AT bus connector.

The Dauphin 5000 Pentop combines the standard DOS/OS2 world of computing
with the world of major pen-based operating systems, such as Microsoft
Corporation's Windows for Pen Computing and Go Corporation's PenPoint.

"As more pen-based and pen-enhanced applications become available, the
Dauphin 5000 Series Pentop can seamlessly integrate them into the system,"
states Mr. Castillo. "All of these features are why we say the Dauphin
5000 Series Pentop brings you, "Technology that Points to the Future."'

The Dauphin 5000 Series Pentop is the first in a complete family of
pen-based systems to be designed, engineered and manufactured by Dauphin
Technology, Inc. right here in America of primarily American-made
components.

The first model is scheduled for shipment in the 4th quarter of this year.
It joins Dauphin's full line of laptop and notebook computers, including:

*  the Dauphin LapPRO 386SX, a 13 Ib., 16MHz laptop with 2 MB RAM
expandable to 4; 40 MB hard drive expandable to 200 and a 10" backlit
