CMFiler--The Powerful, Lightning-Fast File Manager--Enhanced

TRIANGLE, VA--If you still struggle with the inadequacies of a DOS command
processor like COMMAND.COM, are frustrated by your current file manager or
simply avoid the DOS environment altogether because of its seeming
complexity, CMFiler may be just the utility for you. It is equally at home
as a DOS application in a Microsoft Windows environment or an OS/2 DOS
box, and offers tremendous speed and simplicity compared to applications
designed especially for those platforms.

NoVaSoft has released CMFiler Version 5.36c, a major update to their
easy-to-use, versatile and affordable disk/file manager for DOS. CMFiler
makes cleaning and organizing your disks a breeze with a transparent
architecture and mnemonic, one-touch command structure.

CMFiler's user interface is clean and functional. Mnemonic commands such as
"C" for "Copy" are employed consistently throughout, making the product
usable "out of the box" for the beginner. Yet its capabilities in
manipulating and viewing files, directories and entire disks make it a
true power tool for the most experienced and demanding user. Version 5.36c
adds 43- and 50-line VGA display capabilities to its lineup of advanced
features.

The basic service is a side-by-side, split-screen display of two
directories. You copy or move files from one directory to the other,
delete files, create new directories, change file and directory names or
attributes, and navigate levels of directory structures. A built-in text
editor makes identifying and editing files a breeze, while a notepad lets
you enter and view your own comments of up to 39 characters about any file
or directory. Nine file sorting schemes are available, along with a
filename mask and mass-tagging options.

Additional features include a built-in floppy-disk formatter and disk
copier, a smart floppy-disk "fill" function, a one-touch directory
freshener to make and update backup disks, a print spooler for printing
files in the background while you perform other tasks and a facility for
printing a directory listing with notes.

CMFiler launches other applications, leaving only a small, 20K kernel in
memory waiting to regain control when the application finishes. Another
feature tags files for painless compression or extraction using
compression utilities. You can view a list of compressed files in ZIP,
LZH, ARJ, ARC or self-extracting EXE format.

Perhaps the most exotic capabilities, however, lie in the "tree" module.
Here, you display whole disk structures side by side, and copy, delete or
move entire directories with the same ease as you can files in the main
module. Tree services also include a near-instantaneous filename finder
and a fast text finder. The results of searches--or a picture of the tree
structure itself--can be printed.

According to NoVaSoft, CMFiler has been under development for three years.
It is extremely agile and small (108K) because it is written entirely in
highly-optimized Assembly language.

CMFiler is distributed as shareware, with a registration fee of $30--a
terrific bang for your buck. Contact NoVaSoft at 3239 Riverview Dr.,
