LabVIEW Honored in WINDOWS Magazine WIN 100 Awards

April 6 1993 -- Austin, TX - On January 20,1993, WINDOWS Magazine held its
annual WIN 100 Awards ceremony. The annual awards honor hardware and
software products that operate best in the Windows operating environment.

"We are honored that LabVIEW was chosen as a WIN 100 winner," says Jack
Barber, LabVIEW product marketing manager. "We are very excited about the
coverage and attention that WINDOWS Magazine has given the scientific and
engineering marketplace. This market has spawned numerous technologies and
products, such as the graphical programming technology in LabVIEW, which
are very innovative and will soon be commonly used in the general Windows
computing industry."

LabVIEW is a general-purpose graphical programming tool with graphical user
interface tools and extensive libraries for data acquisition, instrument
control, data analysis, and data presentation. With LabVIEW, engineers and
scientists build software modules called virtual instruments (VIs) instead
of writing text-based programs. LabVIEW features a library of ready-to-use
controls, graphs, and strip charts for quickly and easily building custom
user interfaces and control panels. With LabVIEW, users build block
diagrams as the executable programs. Engineers and scientists use LabVIEW
in applications such as process monitoring and control, laboratory
automation, automated testing, and physiological monitoring.

WINDOWS Magazine, published by CMP Publications, Inc., is the oldest and
largest publication serving the growing legion of Windows users. As a
leading publication in its field, its annual awards are widely sought
among industry participants.
