Knowledge Adventure Introduces Kid's Zoo, A Baby Animal Adventure
Educational Software Product Explores the World of Baby Animals

LA CRESCENTA, CA., August 23, 1993 -- Knowledge Adventure, Inc., today
introduced Kid's Zoo, a Baby Animal Adventure. Designed for pre-readers
and early readers, Kid's Zoo introduces children as young as 3 to the
world of animals through their adorable young. Kid's Zoo will be available
for IBM and compatible personal computer on diskette or on CD-ROM.

From delicate butterflies to the humungous hippopotamus, baby animals are
presented to children through a variety of learning modules. These include
an interactive encyclopedia, where children can explore mammals, birds,
fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates through a variety of avenues
-- animal type, size, lifespan, speed, even their footprints! All of the
information is read aloud to the child; over an hour of digitized speech
is presented -- a first in a diskette-based software product. There is
also a movie theater where children will delight to the antics of bear
cubs, mountain kids, lion cubs and more. Also included are a series of
learning games that challenge children's understanding of animal names,
appearances, habitats, and sounds.

Kid's Zoo is available to consumers at major software stores, mass
merchants, software catalogs, and direct marketing organizations. The
suggested retail price is $59.95 for the diskette version and $79.95 on
CD-ROM.

"Although not obvious to our young customers, Kid's Zoo combines our
proprietary compression technology and our interactive movie technology to
produce a fun, whimsical adventure into the world of baby animals," said
Rod Turner, president and chief executive officer of Knowledge Adventure,
Inc. "A key factor in the design of Kid's Zoo as an early reading product
was the requirement to include high quality narration, sounds, and music
for young children; yet, still offer Kid's Zoo to our customers on floppy
diskettes. Our proprietary compression technology enables us to include
over an hour of narration and sounds plus an hour of music in Kid's Zoo,
all compressed onto five floppy disks. It remains compressed on the user's
hard disk, and individual photos, movies, sounds and text items are
decompressed on the fly as required."

Kid's Zoo features exquisite photographic-quality images, illustrations,
full-motion video displayed in 256-color VGA, narration and an original
musical score in full stereophonic MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital
Interface) sound, for use on a PC. Even in its floppy-based version, Kid's
Zoo incorporates over an hour of narration as well as an hour of music.
Using its "paw print" pointer, children can learn about baby animals
through eight activities such as the Baby Animal Movie Theater, a talking
storybook, and five multi-level games that encourage children to learn and
explore as they are challenged by the various levels of the different
activities. Upon completion of each game, children are awarded with
congratulations, applause and a computer-rendered movie created with our
interactive movie technology.

Other activities included in Kid's Zoo are "Who Makes This Sound?" in which
children select the animal that matches the sound, "Can you Find Me?" in
which children select the baby animal based on its baby animal name, and
"Where Do I Live?" in which children learn about geography by searching
for where various animals live. Also included is a Photo Safari game in
which children can look up their favorite animals alphabetically. The
Kid's Zoo Talking Storybook explores the age-old dilemma, "Which Came
First: The Chicken or the Egg?"

Kid's Zoo runs on IBM and compatible PCs, equipped with a VGA monitor and a
hard disk drive. A mouse is recommended. Over twenty popular sound devices
are supported, though Kid's Zoo' sounds will play through the PC's speaker
as well. Supported sound devices include: Adlib and Adlib Gold; Aria
Synthesizer Sound Card; Artisoft Lantastic Voice; ATI Stereo-FX; Covox
