ACCOLADE ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF THE GOLF ILLUSTRATED "HOLE DESIGN
CONTEST"

SAN JOSE, Calif.-August 26, 1993--Accolade, a leading publisher of sports
simulations and publisher of the award-winning line of Jack Nicklaus
computer golf simulations, in a joint promotion with Jack Nicklaus
Productions and Golf Illustrated magazine, today announced the winners of
their "Hole Design Contest." The three grand prize winners, a par 3, par 4
and par 5 winner, have each won a trip to play in the Pro-Am event at The
Wendy's 3 Tour Challenge in early October at Colleton River Plantation,
South Carolina.

The three grand prize winners include Rev. Paul Crocket from Raleigh, North
Carolina; Mark Rogers from Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Marshall Gerometta
from Griffith, Indiana. The winners will also receive copies of the Golf
Illustrated Course Disk featuring their winning hole designs which will be
published at a later date by Accolade. The names of the grand prize
winners will also be published in an upcoming issue of Golf Illustrated
magazine. An additional 33 runner-up winners (7 par 3 winners, 19 par 4
winners, and 7 par 5 winners) from the United States, Canada and
Australia, have each won a one year subscription to Golf Illustrated and a
copy of the Golf Illustrated Course Disk.

The "Hole Design Contest" challenged computer golfers to create a perfect
golf hole using Accolade's popular golf simulation, Jack Nicklaus Golf &
Course Design: Signature Edition. To enter the contest, players used the
course architect feature in Jack Nicklaus Golf & Course Design: Signature
Edition, to design a perfect par 3, par 4 or a par 5 golf hole. A panel of
judges from Accolade, Jack Nicklaus Productions and Golf Illustrated
magazine determined the winning designs based on accepted golf design
criteria including challenge/difficulty, aesthetics and overall fun.
"Response to the contest was tremendous, especially when you consider the
amount of time each person put into designing their entry," said product
marketing manager, Daniel Jeung. "Nearly every person spent a minimum of
two or three hours to create their par 3, par 4 or a par 5 design, and
most entries contained all three holes. Golfers are dedicated to their
sport and this contest proves that computer golfers are equally as
dedicated," concluded Jeung.

Developed in association with Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus Productions,
Jack Nicklaus Golf & Course Design: Signature Edition is actually two
products in one. The Course Architect feature provides players with all
the tools necessary to design a single golf hole or a complete golf
course. Everything from creating the land plot complete with terrain
including hills, valleys and water, to exact placement of course objects
such as trees and benches, to precision detail on the greens. The game
play option of the product features two Nicklaus designed courses and
fully-digitized golfers, including Jack Nicklaus himself. It is the only
computer golf simulation for IBM PC and compatible computers with a course
architect feature. It is available at a suggested retail price of $69.95
