CHEYENNE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF NEW SUBSIDIARY 

Cheyenne Communications, Inc. to Develop and Market Software for "Desktop
to Enterprise Communications"

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NEW YORK, June 7, 1993 - - - Cheyenne Software, Inc.
(AMEX:CYE) announced today the formation of a wholly-owned subsidiary to
be known as Cheyenne Communications, Inc. Cheyenne Communications, Inc.
has been established to take full advantage of the growing demands and
needs associated with the rapidly expanding local area network (LAN)
communications market.

Cheyenne Communications, Inc. will develop and market turn-key "Desktop to
Enterprise Communications" software products. These products will be
focused on facsimile services, data transmission and a variety of other
communications applications that will integrate within the client/server
model, which was pioneered by Cheyenne during its developmental stage.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cheyenne Software, Cheyenne Communications,
Inc. will be afforded the ability to focus its resources on building a
solid niche within the communications industry, while Cheyenne Software
continues to pursue its leadership position as a provider of server-based
storage, network management and security software products.

In making the announcement, Eli Oxenhorn, President, Cheyenne Software,
stated, "The formation of Cheyenne Communications provides an exceptional
vehicle by which Cheyenne can support the anticipated growth within the

Cheyenne also announced that Mr. Yuda Doron has been appointed to the
position of Cheyenne Communications's President. Mr. Doron, a 16 year
veteran in highly technical start-up companies in the U.S. and Israel,
will be responsible for the company's operating activities, as well as
establishing Cheyenne Communications's overall direction. After selling
his Israeli-based software and integration company, Mr. Doron was a vital
part in forming a successful TCP/IP, UNIX software factory floor division
for Texas Instruments.

Mr. Oxenhorn also noted, "Mr. Doron's experience and management style will
be vital to the success of Cheyenne Communications. Under his direction,
Cheyenne Communications will provide an attractive environment for
recruiting qualified talent and integrating technologies."

Initially, Cheyenne Communications, Inc. will market FAXserve, the first
file server-based, automated approach to network facsimile services. The
company will expand its product line through the development and
acquisition of complementary technologies.
