SOFTWARE GROVE RELEASES ENHANCED "MESSAGES" FOR WINDOWS
Standalone and Network Software Significantly Enhanced

New Windows software from Software Grove enhances phone message viewing and
printing.

April 27, 1993 -- Kirkland, WA -- Enhanced Software Grove Messages and
Software Grove Messages for Networks ("the phone messaging system everyone
already knows how to use") were today released by Software Grove
Corporation of Kirkland, Washington.

The software is titled Software Grove Messages because Windows, DOS and
Network users can simply fill out a "MESSAGE" form on their PC screens
(the form looks just like the pink or blue forms often titled "IMPORTANT
MESSAGE"), and the message is automatically delivered across the network.
The single-user version provides paper output, optionally on pink paper.

The new versions are Software Grove Messages for Windows Version 1. 7 and
Software Grove Messages for Networks Version 1. 3. Both versions include
the following enhancements:

1. On-the-fly name completion, for both the sender and
recipients names, automatically matches typing with the phone
list and automatically fills in a name a soon as it is
   recognized.
2. Multiple recipients can now be specified for a single message.
3. Numeric priority/tracking flags can now be set for messages.
4. New printing options, forms and templates (including a new
"single line" template) provide more attractive printed
output, and partial forms can now be printed by specifying
   a starting forms position.
5. Users can now modify report and forms templates, which are now
   stored as an ASCII file.
6. There are now more start-up configuration options.

In addition, Software Grove Messages for Networks Version 1. 3 includes the
following:

1. Access to shared network resources now provides remote login
from any station on the network and support for diskless
   workstations.

2. Notification that a message has been received can now be
provided by any or all of the following options:
   -- "Beep",
   -- Flash the Messages icon,
-- Flash the "priority icon" for the message that is
      waiting, or
   -- Pop-up the Messages application.

3. Enhanced (optional) password protection (set-up of the first
message center now controls set-up of additional message
centers on network) so that security can be consistent across
   the net.

Software Grove Messages for Network has key advantages for both people who
receive phone messages and for people who take phone messages. Network
users get their phone messages delivered immediately, without having to go
to the message center, and messages are always perfectly readable with
well-formatted phone numbers and information. Taking phone messages has
never been faster and easier: users never have to search for a pad or
company directory, they don't have to leave their computers, they are
automatically building the company phone list, and back-up copies and
reports can be effortlessly provided. For users not on the network,
Messages for Networks can print on standard paper or on the four-up,
perforated pink message paper supplied with the package.

Marty Tudor, President of Tudor Entertainment, Inc., has completed 6 weeks
of testing on Software Grove Messages for Networks. He provided the
following enthusiastic evaluation:

"Tudor Entertainment is the manager for many Hollywood actors, and so phone
messages are our business lifeline. We have been looking for a reliable
and very easy-to-use way to track phone messages because we typically take
over 300 messages every day. Without a doubt Software Grove Messages for
Networks provides an outstanding and reliable way to track all of our
deluge of phone calls. We recommend the product and the company - very
highly."

Messages provides the following important capabilities:

1. Instantaneous visual and/or audible notification of waiting
   messages.
2. Notes can be added to messages.
3. Back up copies of messages are instantly available, either
   printed or on-screen.
4. Messages can be sent to individual recipients or groups.
5. Easy entry of messages with automatic filling of fields
(date, time, message taker and recipients name, plus, for
repeat callers, the caller's name, company name and telephone
   number).
6. For users not on the network, messages can be printed in
several formats including four-per-page, one-per-page, Call
Tracker forms, compact one-line listings, and full caller
   reports.
7. Messages can be taken and sent from any node on the network.
8. Messages can be unprotected and editable, or password
   protected and encrypted.

According to John Grove, President of Software Grove:

"We provide the interface that everyone already knows for message passing -
the all-to-familiar phone message form - and we make the secretary's and
everyone else's life easier. We have, simply put, provided a message pad
on everyone's computer screen. The results of automating phone message
taking is far greater than just improved productivity for secretaries and
everyone else who takes messages, but for companies from 2 to thousands of
employees, everyone who receives a message becomes more productive."

Software Grove Messages operates under Microsoft Windows 3.0/3.1 and
Windows for Workgroups, and DOS 3.1 and above, on IBM-compatible PCs.
Messages for Networks is compatible with Client-Server and Peer-to-Peer
networks, including Novell Netware and Netware Lite, Artisoft LANtastic,
