SPLIT - FILE SECTIONING AND REDUCING PROGRAM

SPLIT, from NASA Marshall Space Center, inputs any large ASCII type file
and splits, or rewrites, it into smaller, more easily managed files. The
number of lines in the created files is designated by the user. These
smaller files can then be edited, printed, or copied to floppy disks
without file size complications, since all editors, printers and floppy
drives have inherent file size limits. File order is maintained by the
program in naming each output file with the original filename plus a
sequentially numbered filename extension. No limit exists on the size of
the input file. SPLIT is completely menu-driven and includes user input
prompts.

SPLIT, MFS-29863, is written in FORTRAN 77 for IBM PC series and compatible
computers running MS-DOS. The standard distribution medium for this
program is a 5.25 inch 360K MS-DOS format diskette. Documentation is
included in the $50 price of the program.
