IPSWITCH. INC. RELEASES VERSION 1.3 OF ITS CATIPULT NETWARE TO TCP/IP
GATEWAY

Catipult Gives Novell Users Convenient Access to TCP/IP Hosts
--Version 1.3 Adds Windows Front End and Winsock Interface--

(April 29, 1993)--Reading, MA--Ipswitch, Inc. today announced the
availability of Version 1.3 of Catipult, the company's NetWare to TCP/IP
gateway. Catipult provides NetWare users inexpensive access to a full
suite of TCP/IP applications.

Catipult Version 1.3 Highlights

* Windows Front End: Catipult's new WCAT front end lets users navigate
between all of the Catipult applications and enter parameters using
Windows dialog boxes . With WCAT, users no longer need to remember the
names of TCP/IP applications or their specific parameters. Applications
are grouped by function in Windows menus.

* Winsock: Catipult now supports Winsock, the new Windows Sockets
interface. Catipult's Winsock interface makes a large and quickly growing
base of third party TCP/IP applications compatible with Catipult.

* 45 and 60-User Versions: Catipult's scope has expanded from the 30
concurrent users supported by Version 1.2 to include the new 45-user and
60-user versions available in Version 1.3. Since Catipult's licensing is
based on concurrent usage, a 60-user gateway often supports as many as 200
users.

* Printer Redirection: Catipult's new printer redirection allows users to
print to network printers from within DOS and Windows applications.

* Dynamic Session Allocation: Sites with multiple Catipult gateways may now
specify all of the gateways on the application command line, and Catipult
will find the first available gateway. With dynamic session allocation,
hundreds of users at a site can use several Catipult gateways with no
administrative overhead to determine which users should be attaching to a
given gateway.

* Full screen installation: The Catipult installation program has been
completely revised, and is now a full-screen, windowed, program with
on-line help.

Catipult's new capabilities add to an already full-featured product.
Highlights include Telnet, TN3270, FTP, broad support for third party
applications including databases and terminal emulators, and Catmail, a
complete distributed mail system. Also included are an SNMP agent, the
Berkeley r-utilities and lpr.

--Pricing and Availability--

Catipult Version 1.3 is available now directly from Ipswitch and selected
Value Added Resellers. Priced at $2,975 for 30 concurrent users, Catipult

NetWare 2.x, 3.x or 4.x. The 45-user version sells for $4,275, and the
60-user version is priced at $5,375. The Catipult gateway software runs on
an OS/2 PC running Novell's NetWare Requester for OS/2. Existing
applications can be easily ported to Catipult with the Catipult
Development Kit, which is available now for $475. The Catipult Development
Kit fully support Berkeley Sockets.
