FOUNDATION PRESENTS SEMINAR SERIES TO HELP COMPANIES IMPLEMENT
CLIENT/SERVER APPLICATIONS

SAN FRANCISCO, May 4, 1993 -- FOUNDATION, an Andersen Consulting software
organization, will host a series of complimentary client/server seminars
in 30 U.S. and Canadian cities to demonstrate how companies can
successfully implement client/server systems within their organizations.
FOUNDATION launches its spring seminar series on May 11 in New York,
Houston and Ottawa. The seminars will run through June and are open to the
public.

The spring seminar series is a continuation of FOUNDATlON's successful
client/server seminar program, held in fall 1992, which more than 1,500
professionals attended. The upcoming spring seminars will show attendees
how to overcome the challenges of developing client/server applications.
They will hear how FOUNDATION addresses both departmental and
enterprise-wide applications and will get a firsthand demonstration of how
they can develop client/server applications using the next-generation
FOUNDATION for Cooperative Processing (FCP) and the new Rapid Application
Builder, a component within FCP.

"Through FOUNDATlON's fall seminars, we determined that more than 50
percent of organizations are planning to develop client/server
applications in 1993," said Ronald H. Rolland, Director of FOUNDATION
Marketing, Sales & Support Services. "This figure demonstrates that
today's organizations view client/server technology as the competitive
strategy for computing in the 90s. However, there are complexities
involved in migrating to client/server environments. Our seminars will
dispel some of the confusion surrounding this new technology and will
highlight companies that have successfully made the transition using
FOUNDATION."

FOUNDATION today introduced its next-generation FOUNDATION for Cooperative
Processing product at the DB Expo conference in San Francisco. The new
product offers major enhancements that ease and accelerate the process for
building client/server systems that connect a wide range of software,
network and hardware environments across a department or enterprise.

FOUNDATION introduced its initial client/server development product,
FOUNDATION for Cooperative Processing, in April 1991. The product is being
used in strategic client/server development projects by more than 2,800
developers at 70 companies worldwide, including Mortgage Guaranty
Insurance Corporation, Sprint Corporation, the State of North Carolina and
British Columbia Gas.
