Committed to Windows NT
Intergraph Showcases Over 30 Products for Technical Desktop at Windows
World

ATLANTA, May 24, 1993 -- Intergraph Corporation (Huntsville, Ala.) comes to
Windows World '93 here, demonstrating its commitment to Windows NT and the
technical desktop by showcasing over 30 technical applications running on
Microsoft's new scalable, platform independent, multitasking operating
system. Intergraph announced in November that it would begin porting its
full range of technical applications to Windows NT.

Additionally, Intergraph is demonstrating Windows NT running on its Clipper
RISC (reduced instruction set computing) microprocessor-based workstation;
the first models in it's new Technical Desktop series of Intel-based
Windows/DOS and Windows NT workstations; two new Intel-based symmetric
multiprocessor servers; and two fast, large-format scanners. The new
Technical Desktop series workstations are the first high-performance,
affordable systems capable of running Windows NT and Intergraph's wide
variety of technical applications for demanding tasks such as
computer-aided design, manufacturing, and engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE).

Covering Breadth of Industries and Applications

The Intergraph application products at Windows World '93 range from
architecture to geographic information systems and are the first of about
300 Intergraph technical applications due for release on Windows NT by the
end of 1994. The huge Windows World audience is viewing the first group of
packages, many of which will be covered in detail at specific industry
trade shows during the next few months.

"Last year we made a major commitment to Windows NT. Combining our large
catalog of technical applications with Windows NT's powerful 32-bit
processing, the popular Windows graphical user interface, and thousands of
commercial applications will yield greater productivity for technical
users. Windows NT enables us to create a single, consistent and efficient
technical desktop," said Intergraph Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Jim Meadlock. "We promised products in the second half of this year. We've
come to Windows World with over 30 Windows NT applications and new Windows
NT-ready hardware, actually beating our development schedules for a number
of products."

Intergraph is the largest Windows NT application development site in the
world. Meadlock said the company will have more than 3,000 developers
devoted to developing software for Windows NT by the end of the year.

Meadlock will discuss the company's product and systems strategy with the
news media tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. in room W-368 of the Georgia World
Congress Center.

Solutions for the Technical Desktop

With official introduction of Windows NT-based hardware and software,
Intergraph has a dual-platform strategy. The company is known for its
UNIX-based products, used worldwide in numerous industries and technical
disciplines. Now, Intergraph delivers all its applications for UNIX on
Clipper systems, and all applications for Windows NT on both Intel and
Clipper systems. With full Windows NT support, Intergraph addresses a
larger population of potential users and targets new solutions for the
technical desktop.

Intergraph's Windows NT Applications

Among the Intergraph Windows NT applications at Windows World is the latest
version of MicroStation: Version 5.0. MicroStation is a general-purpose
2D/3D design and drafting package, and also serves as the graphics engine
for a number of other Intergraph applications. MicroStation runs on
multiple platforms and in many environments, including DOS, Windows,
Windows for Workgroups and Windows NT. When released in August,
MicroStation will list for $3,790 (U.S.)

Intergraph is also demonstrating ModelView, its specialty rendering and
animation software, on Windows NT. ModelView produces photorealistic
images and animations from 3D models created with a number of popular CAD
packages, including MicroStation and AutoCAD. ModelView will also be
released for Windows NT in August, with a list price of $2,500 (U.S.).

Intergraph products presented at Windows World '93 include:

MicroStation 5.0

The general-purpose 2D/3D graphics design and drafting package that also
serves as the graphics engine for many other Intergraph applications.
MicroStation runs in multiple environments, including Windows/DOS and
Windows NT, and on UNIX-based systems from several vendors.

ModelView

Specialty rendering and animation software that produces photorealistic
images from 3D models created with a variety of popular computer-aided
design (CAD) packages, including MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Architecture/ Engineering/ Construction (AEC)

The MasterWorks family of six MicroStation-based tools (DesignWorks,
FrameWorks, CogoWorks, SiteWorks, RoadWorks, and RoadWorks Plus) that
enable architects, civil and structural engineers to handle design,
modeling, engineering, and drafting tasks.

Mapping/GIS

The Modular GIS Environment (MGE) is a solution for capturing, integrating,
analyzing and presenting geographic information in applications such as
infrastructure and land management, environmental site remediation,
transportation, modeling, and petroleum exploration.

Eight MGE core products for Windows NT (MGE Basic Nucleus, MGE Basic
Administrator, MGE Base Mapper, MGE Projection Manager, MGE Translator,
MGE Analyst, MGE Terrain Modeler, and MGE Map Finisher) will address map
coordinate systems, base mapping, data capture and validation, spatial
analysis, map projection transformation. terrain modeling, data
translation, and map finishing capabilities. In addition, four products in
the image processing, photogrammetry and map scanning disciplines will be
available.
