International Software Systems is Releasing a Comprehensive and
User-Friendly HVAC Package at A/E/C SYSTEMS '93

May 24, 1993 -- International Software Systems will introduce an addition
to its CADPIPE plant design software solution, CADPIPE HVAC, at the A/E/C
SYSTEMS '93 show in Anaheim, California, June 8-10th. This new program
makes HVAC design faster and easier with scaled drawings, 3-D
capabilities, interactive collision checking, full accessory items, and
automatic bills of material.

Unlike other packages whose drawings are not done to scale, CADPIPE HVAC is
unique in that the system (including joints, sizes and ductwork) is drawn
exactly as it will be installed, correctly selecting the proper lengths,
connections and size based on real, previously defined, HVAC parameters.
The user does not have to do any adjustments as he/she would with
not-to-scale drawings.

CADPIPE HVAC allows users to define system specifications and design HVAC
systems in 2-D or 3-D, enabling the user to create detailed drawings while
automatically checking for interference with piping systems and building
structures.

CADPIPE HVAC is a true 3-D drawing package, with all ductwork and fittings
represented by 3-D objects. The AutoCAD hide, shade and render commands
can be used to create presentation drawings of ducting systems. As a
result, the user can view these systems from any angle or elevation for
coordination purposes.

Because HVAC is a true 3-D system, it allows users to draw in any direction
or any elevation. With the interactive Collision Checking feature, the
user can create complex design runs in crowded areas without the fear of
interference problems. The system automatically alerts the user when such
a problem occurs. HVAC will allow users to view the collision from any
angle; or it will provide the information on elevation of the duct or
fitting, and the elevation of what the user collided with. The duct design
can be viewed from any angle or position in the building. Elevation and
isometric views are automatic so that section views of crowded areas can
be placed on the drawing allowing for easy installation.

CADPIPE HVAC's other features, created to make design and drawing as simple
and easy as possible include: AUTO-ROUTE which allows you to route runs of
ducting using elbows, or offset and standard straights; AUTO-NUMBERING
which automatically places a tag number on each piece of duct or fitting
for easy installation; AUTO-ANNOTATE which automatically places the size,
length and elevation on the drawing on any piece of duct or fitting; HVAC
EDIT which easily moves, copies or deletes single fittings or entire runs
of ductwork; and Flex and Spin which places flex ducts and spin-ins and
connects them to a diffuser.

HVAC includes user definable system specifications for round and
rectangular ducting, default lengths for straight ducts, joint type and
allowance; material type, gauge flange and gasket size. It also has a full
complement of fittings including taps, flex connector, flexible pipe,
offsets, transitions, increase area takeoff, Y branches, goose necks and
elbows and tees. It also includes architectural features such as walls,
structural, lights, columns, and grid functions. All objects drawn with
the architectural function are also checked with the Collision Checking
function to ensure that drawings and designs are free from interference
problems. CADPIPE HVAC also has HVAC accessories, and full reporting
capabilities.

CADPIPE HVAC uses AutoCAD Release 12 features including pull-down menus, as
well as dialogue boxes.
