XTREENET INTEGRATES XTREEGOLD IN UPGRADE

Integration of Advanced File & Disk Management Streamlines Routine NetWare
& DOS Tasks for Network Administrators

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA. -- May 1, 1993 -- XTree Company is now shipping the
eagerly-awaited XTreeNet 2.5 upgrade integrating XTreeGold's advanced
file, directory and disk management features, designed specifically for
Novell NetWare Managers.

Long a favorite of NetWare administrators, it is the first file management
product allowing management of server volumes and disks on local or remote
workstations. XTreeNet's tools allow network administrators to quickly
organize NetWare file systems and manage user and group access to files
and directories in one cohesive environment.

XTreeNet 2.5 retails for $495; with server extensions at $295 each.
Registered users of XTreeNet may upgrade for $95 and $75 per server
extension. Registered users of any other XTree product may upgrade for
$249 for the first server; $149 for each server extension. It is available
through XTree's network of computer dealers, software resellers, mail
order resellers and superstores. All prices quoted are in U.S. dollars.

XTree's Vice President of Marketing Bob Kimball says, "We believe
network/LAN managers will appreciate the full power of this product, since
it enables them to work with files. directories and volumes on the server
and/or local and remote workstations in a logical way."

XTreeNet allows you to connect to any network server, and/or perform
peer-to-peer file management of a remote workstation, from any workstation
on the network with just a 7K TSR. Up to 26 network, local or remote
drives can be mapped. Reports on volume/directory organization, including
contents and access rights to any network printer can be generated.

Both current and new users will like the new pull-down menus which make
command selection quick and easy whether or not they use a mouse. All the
familiar XTree single-key command menus are still available. XTreeNet 2.5
adds ZIP archiving of files for faster compression and expansion, while
minimizing the size of the archived files and ensuring greater
compatibility with other users and bulletin boards.

Greatly expanded viewer capabilities include support for many programs,
including word processing, database and spreadsheets files. More than 50
applications are supported. Files created in supported native formats can
be viewed; associated applications may even be executed while viewing a
file within the XTreeNet program. Autoview and formatted view capabilities
have also been enhanced for viewing many graphic files, including AutoCAD.
Moreover, lists of files in a specified directory, as well as their
contents, may be simultaneously viewed.

Oops! the new DOS-level undelete allows easy restoration of accidentally
erased files. And, move files to other disks and volumes safely, with less
keystrokes; before automatically deleting files, the new copy is verified.
To significantly speed up tasks on large hard disks, start XTreeNet with a
command line prompt for partial logging of the directory tree, one level
of the tree, the current branch or directory, or tree structure only,
releasing all file information. And, because the Release command can now
partially release file information, memory is freed to perform operations
not previously possible.

A new capability to compare files across directories and volumes allows
searching for unique or duplicate files in order to keep the newest and
delete the unwanted, saving space on your server.

Other new features include new Branch logging and window displays; added
copy and move capabilities; longer file specifications; increased command
history saves and displays 16 entries; easy toggle of upper and lower case
display; speedy navigation through directory and file windows; new command
line options for greater initialization control; page headers; single or
multiple passes of Wash (secure file erasure) for greater security; new
configuration options (i.e.. hotkeys); filespecs toggle.
