SPECTRUM HOLOBYTE ENTERS GROWING CD-ROM MARKET WITH DREW PICTURES' IRON
HELIX

Photorealistic Action-Adventure Poised for First-Quarter 1993 Release on
the Macintosh; IBM-Compatibles Version Set for Second Quarter

Spectrum HoloByte is pleased to announce the first CD-ROM title in its
growing line of leading-edge interactive entertainment products. Iron
Helix, created by development house Drew Pictures Inc., will be published
and distributed by Spectrum HoloByte. A March 1993 release is expected for
the Macintosh CD-ROM platform; a CD-ROM-based IBM-compatibles version is
scheduled for May 1993.

Rendered entirely in full-color photorealistic 3-D animation, Iron Helix is
an action adventure set in a cold-war future where a terrible biological
weapon threatens to touch off a galactic holocaust. Players must stop the
weapon from reaching its target by piloting a small robotic probe within
an impossibly huge maze-like starship, all the while evading the ship's
deadly security drone. By speeding through corridors, shafts and chambers
in this six-level monolith, players must guide the probe to the clues that
will stop the drone and destroy the monstrous ship. But there's a catch:
the players' probe was developed for biological research and thus carries
no weapons, making Iron Helix a race of wits and time.

Iron Helix was created by Drew Pictures Inc. of San Francisco, a software
development studio specializing in CD-ROM entertainment. Drew Huffman is
the game's main designer with art direction by Rich Cohen. Peter Stone
composed the motion-picture quality soundtrack.

Iron Helix will be published and distributed by Spectrum HoloByte. Iron
Helix was released for Macintosh CD-ROM-based systems in March 1993 at an
SRP of $99.95.
