CE Software Ships QuickMail 2.6
QuickMail Now Native to Windows

West Des Moines, IA, March 26, 1993 - CE SOFTWARE HOLDINGS, INC.
(NASDAQ/NMS Symbol:CESH) today announced the North American release of
QuickMail version 2.6, CE's new release of its cross platform E-mail
package. QuickMail 2.6 encompasses clients for multiple platforms
including the newly-developed Windows E-mail client, as well as a new,
free server and added network administration tools, all in one box.

"We should have called it 3.0," said Ford Goodman, the company's Executive
Vice President. "We started over a year ago with the goal of rewriting our
mail server. We have added such robust administration tools, and the
server runs so much faster, 3.0 would have been a more accurate
designation for the product."

The release of QuickMail 2.6 is the baseline for future mail, messaging and
groupware development at CE Software. CE has recognized, and stands ready
to capitalize on, a clear and present dynamic changing the messaging
industry: Mail transports are becoming standard components of virtually
every important local area network operating system. While continuing to
provide the de facto Macintosh standard mail transport in QuickMail 2.6,
CE has announced support for Apple's Open Collaborative Environment (AOCE)
and Novell's Message Handling Service (MHS) and NetWare Global MHS. Since
CE provides its server free as a part of the QuickMail offering, CE is
very well prepared to effectively deal with the industry changes Apple and
Novell are pioneering. "As other mail transports in network operating
systems become commercially viable, we will support them as well," said
Goodman. "The key to our strategy is that we will allow our customers to
choose the mail transport most suitable for them, whether it be ours or
one offered by a network operating system vendor. This approach is unique
in the industry."

QuickMail, with an installed base of almost 1,000,000 users world-wide has,
since its inception, been known as the industry's leading Macintosh E-mail
package. Customers, resellers and reviewers alike cite the outstanding
user interface as the primary reason for QuickMail's success. QuickMail
2.6 extends this award-winning interface to all Intel-based users, with
the inclusion of the QuickMail Windows client and through upgrades of the
DOS and Macintosh clients. Now everyone, regardless of PC type, may take
advantage of the interface consistently reviewed as the finest, most
intuitive ever designed for any mail client platform.

QuickMail 2.6 includes server software, Windows, DOS, and Macintosh client
software, remote access, forms creation, mail filing, real-time on-screen
conferencing, gateways and more. QuickMail is consistently a winner in
E-mail reviews. Recent awards include PC Week Analyst's Choice, Macworld
Editors' Choice and Macworld's World Class Award.

"This new version of QuickMail 2.6 reflects our emphasis on total quality.
We completely rearchitected the mail transport and administration of our
mail server," said Ned Horvath, CE's Messaging Team Director. "The server
has been revised to address the operating system most effectively. It is a
very modular piece of code that can be maintained and evolved efficiently.
We have added key network administration tools such as "Move User" and
remote administration that will make QuickMail as easy to administer as it
is to use. For example, adding, changing or deleting users can now be done
from any station, including remote locations. The new "Move User" makes it
a snap to transfer users and their mail to a new MailCenter. And, the new
Mail Authentication Tool provides back-up and robust housekeeping
administration for MailCenters."

Network Status Displays have been significantly enhanced to include current
processes and their progress, and a heartbeat display to show the level of
activity present. QuickMail 2.6 works with AppleShare 3.0 and 3.0.1 and
System 7 File Sharing. On high end Quadras, QuickMail 2.6 supports
hundreds of simultaneous, multi-platform users with up to 32 concurrent
server transactions.

DOS users will be especially pleased with improved performance and with
mail verification capabilities. Performance of sorting functions has
increased by a factor of up to 30 times.

Support for third party developers that provide add-ons to QuickMail 2.6
continues. QuickMail 2.6 enables enhanced directory services with third
party supplied "Find" functions. QuickMail 2.6 is capable of automatically
connecting with GE Information Services drivers for improved connections
to AppleLink. This is in addition to existing automatic connections to
CompuServe, MCI-Mail and more. Third party support for QuickMail 2.6
includes connections to X.400, UUCP, SMTP, PROFS, MHS and dozens of
others.

Mr. Goodman also stated, "In efforts to gain maximum exposure for QuickMail
2.6, we are introducing Connect Now, a revolutionary marketing program
that allows resellers everywhere to provide a free five-user copy of the
new QuickMail 2.6 on every LAN with which they make contact. The QuickMail
Connect Now program does much more than "seed" software. The program
provides our channel partners with a free method to add value for
customers. We will follow this announcement with international
availability as translations are completed. We are so confident of the
robust feature set and ease-of-use of QuickMail that we are prepared to
show every potential E-mail customer worldwide that CE Software is the
technology leader. We are optimistic that QuickMail 2.6 will enable CE
Software to expand upon the current installed base of almost 1,000,000
users and continue its success as a leader in the electronic mail
market."

QuickMail 2.6 is available immediately through CE's Certified Resellers and
through domestic distribution channels. International versions of 2.6 will
be available later this spring. International users should contact their
local distributors for pricing and availability. CE will continue to
bundle a 5-pack of ON Technology's award-winning group scheduling package,
Meeting Maker, for the foreseeable future.

United States and Canada users of Version 2.5 and above can upgrade to 2.6
for a nominal fee of $40/site, which includes shipping, a full set of
manuals and disks to upgrade an unlimited set of QuickMail users. The
upgrade from QuickMail 2.2.x and below is $12 per user. QuickMail 2.6
retails for $649 for a 10-user pack. Users who purchased the product after
January 1, 1993 will receive a free upgrade pack, subject to product
registration and proof of purchase.

Macintosh Systems 6.0.5 and 7 and above are supported as well as DOS 3.1
and above and Windows 3.1. AppleTalk, Novell Netware, Banyan, Microsoft
and other networks are supported. Conferencing is only available on
AppleTalk networks.

CE Software is the leading Macintosh electronic mail supplier and a rapidly
expanding developer of system-enhancing software and network productivity
tools for the Macintosh and Windows/DOS markets. CE Software' s major
products include QuickMail (with almost one million users worldwide),
QuicKeys (the award-winning macro program for Macintosh), ProKey (a
scripting product for the Windows and DOS environments), DiskTop (a
Finder/Launcher for the Windows and Macintosh environments) and
CalendarMaker (a popular calendar publishing application for both
Macintosh and Windows platforms).
