mdbs Announces Release of Inspection Software

Micro Data Base Systems, Inc. (mdbs) announces the release of Inspection
Data Manager (IDM) software. IDM software meets the needs of plant
inspection departments in chemical industries. IDM addresses specific
requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
in addition to guidelines provided by the Chemical Manufacturer's
Association (CMA) and standards set by the American Petroleum Institute
(API).

IDM includes an AutoCAD interface which allows AutoCAD drawings to be
viewed from the package. Inspection points, recent measurements, and
scheduled inspection dates are shown directly on the AutoCAD drawing. The
data logger component interfaces to Panametrics' 26DL PLUS as well as
other popular data collection devices.

Gary Rush, President of mdbs' Applications Solutions Division, which
developed IDM, states, "Today's strict regulatory environment virtually
demands the use of an automated system to carry out inspection functions.
Our package was built to meet the needs of inspection personnel and to
address the new OSHA requirements."

Bill Hatler, Lead Inspection Specialist for Exxon Chemicals, says, "IDM has
allowed us to increase greatly the effectiveness of our inspection program
at Exxon. With IDM, we are able to meet government requirements for
inspection records. Additionally, we have information which has increased
inspection efficiency and accuracy."

mdbs has been developing IDM software since 1986. IDM version 3.0 is
currently in use at Exxon installations around the world. mdbs will
release version 3.1 during the first quarter of 1993.
