KODAK ANNOUNCES DIGITAL CAMERA FOR INFRARED IMAGING

Washington, D.C., April 14 -- Eastman Kodak Company today introduced a new
model of its award-winning DCS 200 professional digital camera. The new
camera captures black and white images in the infrared range of the light
spectrum.

"The camera fills a need in a number of specialized markets," said Dr.
James Patton, general manager and vice president, Professional Imaging,
U.S. and Canada region. Patton cited applications in medical, scientific,
industrial and government markets. He also noted consistently positive
responses to the camera's portability, resolution, and sharpness during
trade testing.

"It enables us, essentially, to 'see' heat--its source, its direction of
flow, its shape," he said, "and we'll be able to see it in real time and
perform computer analysis immediately."

To expand the camera's light sensitivity into the infrared, Kodak engineers
extended the sensitivity of the camera's imaging array to light wave
frequencies up to 950 nanometers (10-9 meter). Human visibility ends at
around 710 nanometers.

According to Kodak, the camera's sensitivity peaks in the range from 700 to
850 nanometers. Kodak high-speed infrared film captures light waves up 900
nanometers with peak sensitivity from 750 to 840 nanometers.

The Kodak DCS 200IR professional digital camera is available as a special
order item at $12,995.
