KODAK SHIPS CD PUBLISHING SOFTWARE FOR WINDOWS ENVIRONMENT

SAN JOSE, Calif., Mar. 30, 1993--Eastman Kodak Company today introduced
Kodak publishing software for the Windows environment in the U.S. and
Canada.

Kodak writable CD publishing software enables commercial users to format
digital information stored on a personal computer in conformance with the
ISO 9660 file and volume structure standard. The ISO 9660 standard ensures
that data written to a write-once compact disc (CD) is interchangeable
across the major computer platforms, including Windows, DOS, Macintosh,
and UNIX. (Users would need a standard CD-ROM device and application
software to read a write-once CD.)

In addition to formating data, Kodak CD publishing software drives the
Kodak PCD writer 200 from a customer's host computer. The writer transfers
the data to a writable CD in a single session. Kodak will offer
multisession formating software for major operating systems in the latter
part of 1993. Multisession software will allow users to append data to a
previously written disc in multiple independent sessions.

The easy-to-use Kodak CD publishing software features a graphical user
interface that allows users to dick, drag, and drop data files located on
their hard drive for ISO 9660 formatting. The software also furnishes
default settings for novice users as well as on-line help.

Kodak CD publishing software is part of the Kodak writable CD system, which
also consists of the Kodak PCD writer 200 and Kodak writable CD media with
InfoGuard protection system. An outgrowth of the Photo CD system, the
Kodak writable CD system is designed to offer commercial users a standard,
economical alternative to traditional methods of publishing data CDs.
Kodak writable CDs can store 550-650 megabytes (MB) of data, text, images,
and digital audio, depending on the format.

Kodak CD publishing software for the Windows platform has a manufacturer's
suggested retail price of $2,495. Single session Kodak publishing software
is also available for the DOS environment. Kodak will soon offer single
session formatting software for the Macintosh and UNIX platforms.

The Kodak PCD writer 200 and Kodak writable CD media with InfoGuard
protection system are available today from Kodak, as well as from selected
value-added resellers (VARs) and systems integrators. Kodak CD publishing
software for the Windows environment will be available in early April from
the same channels.

writable CD products or to place an order, consumers can call the Kodak
