ACCOLADE SIGNS FAVORITE CARTOON PERSONALITY "SPEED RACER" FOR COMPUTER AND
VIDEO GAMES

SAN JOSE, Calif.-April 13, 1993--Accolade, a leading publisher of computer
and video games, today announced that it has signed an exclusive,
worldwide long-term licensing agreement with Speed Racer Enterprises.
Under the terms of the agreement, Accolade will develop and publish video
games and computer software across all leading platforms based-on the
Classic Speed Racer animated series as well as the New Adventures of Speed
Racer animated series. The license includes the use of the characters,
vehicles utilized in both series, series footage, character voices, and
theme songs.

The computer and video games will focus primarily on the racing aspects of
the series, utilizing the famous Mach 5 and other vehicles. Players will
be able to select from a number of scenarios based on the cartoon
episodes, with the goal of winning races. The games will also incorporate
the personalities of the major characters including Speed Racer, his
spunky girlfriend Trixie; his closest friend and ace mechanic Sparky; his
little brother Spridle; the mischievous monkey Chim Chim; Speed's father
and designer of the amazing Mach 5, Pops Racer; and the mysterious Racer
X.

"Millions of fans have been rooting "Go, Speed Racer, Go" for nearly a
quarter of a century," stated Charlotte Taylor Skeel, Accolade's Director
of Licensing. "Soon Speed Racer fans everywhere will enjoy playing
computer and video games based on this popular cartoon series."

Accolade plans to release games based on the classic version of Speed Racer
in the fourth quarter for IBM PC and compatible computers and for the Sega
Genesis and in the first quarter of 1994 for the Super Nintendo. Games
based on the New Adventures of Speed Racer will follow.

The Speed Racer series became an instant hit when it first appeared on
American television in 1967. The series went on to become one of the most
successful cartoons ever shown. As the main character, Speed Racer is a
smart, courageous, resourceful teenage race car driver competing in
dangerous races throughout the world in his fast and fabulous Mach 5
racing machine. The classic "Speed Racer" series is now airing on MTV and
"The New Adventures of Speed Racer," is slated to air in syndication this
fall. There are currently more than 100 Speed Racer licensed items
available from 23 licensees.
