Multi-Tech Upgrades MultiExpress Datacomm/Remote-Control Software

MOUNDS VIEW, MINN., April 8, 1993--Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. announced today
its upgrade of the popular MultiExpress for DOS data communications
software. MultiExpress retains its traditional features, supporting
dial-in, dial-out, and remote-control communications for independent and
networked PCs. The headline enhancements include remote control of Windows
3.x applications, mouse support in DOS and Windows applications as well as
in all user interfaces, and support for multiple datacomm lines.
MultiExpress will be available near the end of April, 1993, under the
following pricing structure:

Single-user license ........$199
Site licensed for 5 users ..$399
     for 10 users..........$599
     for 20 users..........$999
     for 50 users.........$2199
     for 100 users.........$4199

According to Multi-Tech President Raghu Sharma, "Increasing interest in
data communications between local area networks and wide area networks
makes versatility an important aspect of today's datacomm software
packages. As modem technologies improve, remote-control access to LANs
becomes more feasible, and Windows will play a major role in that access.
This means the software must operate in environments which include PCs,
LANs and mainframe systems and be able to remotely control DOS and Windows
applications. MultiExpress is tailored to give the user access to these
environments."

MultiExpress operates with serial ports, Multi-Tech ISI ports, and
Asynchronous Communications Servers (ACS) which implement MCSI (Interrupt
6B) or Interrupt 14 software redirection with speeds up to 115.2K bps. It
also supports peer-to-peer, remote-control sessions over network interface
cards which use IPX or NetBIOS drivers. Plus, it supports up to 255
pre-configured and user-customized modem listings of "AT-command"
compatible modems.

MultiExpress implements a powerful C-based script language with over 150
commands to automate tedious tasks such as a complex login procedure or
up/downloading particular files. Script files may be run from the DOS
prompt or from the dialing program interface for string operations,
mathematical functions, file operations, program flow control, display
command functions, terminal settings, dialing and session management,
predefined system variable settings, and more.

MultiExpress provides emulation of VT100, TTY, ANSI, IBM 3101, and Hex Dump
to accommodate a variety of remote systems, bulletin board systems and
mini/mainframe computers with which users may wish to connect. It also
supports ASCII, XModem, YModem, YModem-G, YMODEM-Batch, YModemG-Batch,
ZModem and Kermit, and Compuserve B+, and the user can install up to three
external file transfer protocols. File transfers have compression built in
regardless of which protocol is selected.

Multi-Tech Systems, which reported sales of $81 Million for 1992, was
