MOLECULAR ARTS CORPORATION ANNOUNCES NEW RELEASE OF 2D CHEMICAL DRAWING
PACKAGE

Anaheim, California, February 1, 1993--Molecular Arts Corporation (MAC),
has announced today the availability of chemDIAGRAM for Windows (Release
2.0), a PC software tool for 2D chemical diagram drawing. It offers
sophisticated 2D chemical drawing capabilities designed specifically for
researchers, scientists, engineers, academics, and students in the
chemistry field. With chemDIAGRAM chemists can easily create complex
structure diagrams, move, scale, stack, and rotate them, add labels and
text, create illustrations for their research documentation, produce
publication-quality output, and share research results with colleagues.

Molecular Arts Corporation's Vice-President of Marketing, Laura Voyles says
of the new release, "chemDIAGRAM is a productivity tool that provides
scientists advanced capabilities for documenting their chemical research
activities." She went on to say, "What makes it so exciting is that
chemDIAGRAM provides advanced 2D diagramming tools, graphic illustration
tools, a text processor, and page layout tools in an affordable desktop
package. With chemDIAGRAM, scientists can draw accurate diagrams,
illustrate their research, and present their work to their peers quickly
and easily."

GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE

By utilizing the popular Microsoft Windows graphical user interface (GUI),
chemDIAGRAM takes full advantage of this intuitive working environment,
making chemDIAGRAM easy to learn and use. Additionally, by integrating all
the necessary drawing and documentation tools under a single user
interface, chemDIAGRAM saves scientists time and money.

PRODUCT FEATURES

The chemDIAGRAM package features a complete palette of diagram drawing
tools including 12 bond tools (with over 20 bond styles), 12 ring tools (3
to 8-sided rings including aromatics, boat, and chair conformations), 3
atom tools (with automatic label superscripts and subscripts, adjustable
label positions, stereo dots and automatic white space around labels), and
12 orbital tools.

Plus chemDIAGRAM offers advanced capabilities like adjustable "snap to"
drawing guides for atom positions, bond lengths, bond angles, and labels.
Bonds, atoms, and labels will automatically pop into place so that
creating accurate diagrams is a "snap."

Diagram features are also customizable. Bond widths, bond spacings, line
weights, fonts, colors, bond stacking, and many other parameters are
user-adjustable.

But chemDIAGRAM is more than just a full-featured diagram drawing program.
Included is a complete graphics drawing tool set so that complex
illustrations can be created. And there's also a complete text editor,
special math and symbol libraries, and advanced page layout tools.
Visually attractive documents can be designed with a clean professional
look.

Full support for cut-n-paste operations (plus graphics file import/export)
allows users to transfer their illustrations into many-other Windows and
DOS-compatible applications including word processors, spreadsheets,
databases, etc. With chemDIAGRAM, users also have access to super display
graphics with: real time 2D transformations (translate, Z-axis rotate, and
zoom), plus support for high-resolution graphics display cards.

Users also have access to quality hardcopy output provided with support for
Hewlett-Packard LaserJet printers, color printers, PostScript devices, HP
plotters - virtually all Windows-compatible output devices. Chemists can
create everything from slides and transparencies to oversized posters, lab
notebook annotations, and paper-based documentation.

AVAILABILITY

The commercial release of chemDIAGRAM (v2.0) is concurrent with this
announcement. A single-user industrial license is available for $349. This
release will operate on IBM PC's and PC-compatibles that support Microsoft
Windows 3.x. Included is a 90 day money-back guarantee and FREE technical
support for the first 3 months of ownership. Extended Support Plans are
