SEQUEL IMAGING ANNOUNCES COLOR CALIBRATION AND DEVICE PROFILES FOR
COLORSYNC

January 4, 1993 -- Sequel Imaging today announced three new products that
take advantage of Apple Computer, Inc.'s new ColorSync for users of color
imaging software and hardware. The new products include two visual-mode
calibration packages, PrintCal/VM and MonCal/VM, which augment the already
successful product line of high-quality color calibration instruments and
software.

Describing the benefit of the ColorSync layer in System 7.0, Technical
Director Tom Lianza said, "ColorSync provides the common platform and
structure needed to make color calibration a reality for the majority of
users. The existence of a common device profile specification at the
operating system level insures our compatibility with any color imaging
package or color management system. Moreover, Sequel Imaging now provides
user generation of device profiles, thus insuring universal access to
Colorsync."

The new ColorSync compatible products will provide users with the ability
to calibrate both color monitors and color printers without need of a
professional color instrument. In making the new product announcements,
Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Nicholas A. Milley, said, "Color
imaging users are finding that color devices usually don't produce good
color right out of the box. Many users think the device is broken or
misaligned and call the manufacturer to complain. Our visual calibration
software now gives users a low-cost means to achieve accurate color in
minutes."

The new product lineup also includes PhotoLink, a package that integrates
the calibration parameters into Photoshop preferences. Arthur Kliman,
Technical Program Manager for Sequel Imaging, describes the stimulus for
these products this way, "During our customer review of product design, we
were told loud and clear that calibration as a function must be integrated
with the imaging application. With the development of PhotoLink, we have
taken the final step in color calibration functionality."

Sequel Imaging is currently in beta test of all calibration products and
expects first shipments by February 1,1993. Sequel Imaging is located at 1
Palmer Drive, Londonderry, NH 03053 and can be reached at (603) 425-2170
