MITSUBISHI ELECTRONICS REDUCES PRICES ON 14- AND 16-INCH HIGH RESOLUTION
COLOR MONITORS

CYPRESS, Calif., January 19, 1992 -- Mitsubishi Electronics America, Inc.
Display Products group has announced price reductions on its 14- and
16-inch high resolution color monitors.

According to Craig Sloss, product marketing manager, the price cuts come in
response to the industry-wide scarcity of monitors in the 14- and 16-inch
sizes. "The monitor shortage has presented much of the industry with an
obstacle, but it has offered Mitsubishi Electronics an opportunity. We
boosted our production to meet the rising demand, which enabled us to
lower our prices," he said.

The monitors affected by the reductions are the Diamond Pro VGA, Diamond
Scan 14, Diamond Pro 14 and the Diamond Scan 16. Each model features an
ultra-fine 0.28 mm dot pitch, high contrast Diamond Matte antiglare coated
CRT, a VGA-compatible signal cable with Apple adapters available at no
charge, two-year warranty, and tilt/swivel base. All four monitors meet
international guidelines for low magnetic emissions.

"The new prices make our monitors much more competitive. We are able to
provide leading-edge products, backed by the Mitsubishi name for quality
and longevity, at prices comparable to low-end, clone-type products," said
Sloss. The suggested retail price (SRP) of the fixed-frequency Diamond Pro
VGA has been lowered from $499 to $375. The SRP of the Diamond Scan 14, an
auto-scanning monitor with a scan range of 30 to 38.5 kHz, has been
reduced from $599 to $499.

Mitsubishi Electronics' premier 14-inch color monitor, the Diamond Pro 14
boasts the greatest compatibility range in its class. Featuring an
auto-scan range of 30 to 58 kHz and flicker-free resolutions from 640 x
480 to 1024 x 768 non-interlaced at 72 Hz high-refresh, the monitor is
engineered for Windows, Macintosh and CAD applications. The SRP for the
Diamond Pro 14 has been lowered by $100 to $599.

The Diamond Scan 16 features a large display to show full-size documents
and the Diamond Match Color Calibration System, which provides precise
control of on-screen colors to match hardcopy and Pantone colors. With a
wide auto-scanning range of 30 to 64 kHz horizontal and 50 to 130 kHz
vertical, the unit runs all resolutions from 640 x 480 through 1280 to
1024 at 60 kHz non-interlaced (including all the new high refresh 1024 x
768 NI standards) and is compatible with all PC, Macintosh II and Quadra
(832 x 624) standards and most third-party graphics board standards. The
SRP of the Diamond Scan 16 has been reduced from $1299 to $1169.

All four models are currently available to resellers through authorized
Mitsubishi Electronics distributors.

Mitsubishi Electronics America, Inc., a leading supplier of premier high
resolution color monitors, offers one of the industry's largest product
