Apple Announces 1993 Schedule for Imagine: The Apple Education TV Series

CUPERTINO, California--December 3, 1992--The Apple USA Education Division
of Apple Computer, Inc. today announced the 1993 schedule for Imagine: The
Apple Education TV Series. Imagine is a series of satellite television
programs that demonstrate how technology is integrated into education. The
programs provide an opportunity for educators and administrators to hear
and see what their peers are doing with technology. This year, programs
will be broadcast both via satellite downlink and on cable to schools,
colleges and universities throughout the country.

In its fourth season, each program broadcast focuses on an educational
topic and features exemplary solutions developed by educators and
administrators. Programs include real-world examples of computer use,
software demonstrations and question-and answer segments that allow
viewers to call in with questions and comments. The series is free of
charge and can be taped from the satellite broadcast for use in libraries,
classroom presentations and faculty in-service programs.

Each program will air from 12 to 1 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on satellite. In
addition, each program will be cablecast one week after the original
satellite broadcast from 8 to 9 p.m. ET by cable television's Mind
Extension University (ME/U): The Education Network of Englewood,
Colorado.

Broadcast 1: Teacher Access To Computer Technology 

Learn how districts are improving school administration and enhancing
instructional effectiveness by increasing teacher access to Apple
Macintosh technology. 

Satellite:         January 21        12 to 1 p.m. ET
Cablecast:         January 27        8 to 9 p.m.  ET

Broadcast 2: Technologies for Language and Global Literacy 

The classroom is evolving into an ever more multilingual world. How is
technology helping to enhance written and spoken communication for
speakers of English as a first--and second--language? Discover how the
Macintosh combines sound, graphics, text, and video to encourage
self-paced learning and foster language skills. 

Satellite:         February 18       12 to 1 p.m. ET
Cablecast:         February 24       8 to 9 p.m.  ET

Broadcast 3: Multimedia & Education 

Learn how teachers and students are using Macintosh computers to combine
graphics, text, sound and digital video as they apply relationships and
understand concepts spanning a number of curriculum areas.

Cablecast:         March 24          8 to 9 p.m.  ET

Broadcast 4: Technology and the Evolving Classroom

Explore how new and emerging technologies are being used today in education
and view a snapshot of the future of technology in education.

Cablecast:         April 28          8 to 9 p.m.  ET

Mind Extension University provides quality educational programming to
educators and students throughout the year. In teaming up with Mind
Extension, Apple is making it easier for educators, administrators and
parents to view the broadcasts at home or at school.

The series is available via satellite downlink, cable and videotape.
