IBM Enters Agreement with Franklin Quest Co. for Ascend Software

Salt Lake City, Utah; October 19, 1992--Franklin Quest Co. (NYSE:FNQ)
announced today an agreement with IBM (NYSE: IBM) for packaging Franklin's
Ascend software on IBM PS/note Computers.

Ascend is a personal information and contact manager for the Windows
environment. Ascend is developed and marketed by Franklin Quest Co., a
leading provider of training seminars and products designed to improve
individual productivity through effective time management. Over one
million individuals currently use the Franklin paper-based Day Planner
System.

IBM will be shipping several thousand copies of Ascend on their new PS/note
notebook computers.
