NEC REDUCES PRICE OF MULTISYNC 5FG COLOR MONITOR

Wood Dale, Ill., September 28, 1992 Technologies, Inc. today announced a
reduction in the suggested retail price of its 17-inch MultiSync 5FG color
monitor to $1,599 from $1,699.

"Our customers are finding that a 17-inch monitor is optimal for large
screen graphics applications, so we are making our superior MultiSync 5FG
display more affordable to enable more mainstream users to experience the
benefits of larger screens and NEC performance," said Wayne Hinson,
director of marketing for NEC's Graphics Unit.

A winner of CADalyst's Highly Recommended rating and PC Computing's MVP and
1992 Best Monitor awards, the MultiSync 5FG is ideal for
graphics-intensive windowing environments. The flattened MultiSync 5FG
color monitor is compatible with PC and Macintosh platforms and supports
VGA to 1280 x 1024 at up to 74 Hz.

In addition to its up-front digital controls and support of multiple
display modes, the MPR II compliant MultiSync 5FG color monitor has dual
dynamic beam focus that delivers sharper edge-to-edge and top-to-bottom
display of detailed screen images. The larger screen size is further
maximized by NEC's FullScan technology which enables use of the entire
screen, bezel-to-bezel.

With the 5FG color monitor's AccuColor Control System, a digital
application-independent color preference system, users can match on-screen
color to color printer output or any other output device.

To give users greater control of their computing environments, NEC offers a
OCLI-coated MultiSync Monitor Lens, designed for improved viewing in
ambient lighting conditions and complements the MultiSync FG color
monitors by increasing the images' contrast while decreasing glare. Two
versions are available --dark tint lenses provide maximum contrast in
areas where the user works near a window or under bright fluorescent
lighting. Standard tint lenses, made for GUI environments such as the
Apple Macintosh desktop, increase contrast and reduce glare.

The MultiSync 5FG color monitors and MultiSync Monitor Lenses have a two
year warranty and are available at NEC's nationwide network of authorized
dealers. The suggested retail price of the 17-inch MultiSync Monitor Lens
is $119.

NEC is currently running an end user promotion, the "A Shade Better Than
The Rest," whereby customers purchasing a MultiSync 5FG at a participating
dealer now through December 31, 1992, can get a free monitor lens. The "A
Shade Better Than The Rest" promotion also allows customers purchasing
MultiSync 4FG monitors through December 31, 1992, to receive a free
15-inch lens. And 6FG customers in the same time period can also receive a
free 21-inch lens at dealers participating in the "Go Bigger, Go Better"
promotion.
