KanjiMaker Offers Japanese Fonts For Sign Making & Graphics Applications

October 10, 1992 -- Knox Computer Systems, Inc. (Knox) of San Diego, CA has
just announced the release of KanjiMaker, an MS-Windows application that
supplies eleven (11) scalable Japanese fonts for sign making and graphics
applications. KanjiMaker is a major addition to the large product line of
Japanese software products that Knox carries. Knox will sell KanjiMaker
worldwide and offer full customer support in both English and Japanese.

According to John Riley, Vice President of Knox Computer Systems, "Our
customers have been asking for a product like KanjiMaker for a long time
now and we are happy to finally satisfy their needs. KanjiMaker will be a
terrific solution for creating signs and advertisements in places like
Hawaii, Australia, the mainland US and Europe where there are a tremendous
amount of Japanese tourists and an installed base of American AT
computers."

KanjiMaker is a tool that provides the Japanese font data that can be
integrated into other applications. KanjiMaker can not be used alone, but
it can integrate with some of the most popular sign making and graphics
applications available, including Gerber's Graphix Advantage, Corel Draw!
and other applications which can import Encapsulated Postscript (EPS)
files.

The primary benefit to KanjiMaker is the quality of the eleven (11) high
quality scalable fonts which are developed by Knox and NIS. The NIS fonts
are especially good for sign making applications because of their boldness
and heavy weight. One of the KanjiMaker typefaces, Seibi Kaisho, offers a
very attractive brush stroke style. KanjiMaker supports a variety of
additional typefaces including, Mincho, Kaku-Gothic, Maru-Gothic and the
recently endorsed typefaces of the Japanese government, Heisei Mincho and
Heisei Gothic.

Knox will offer KanjiMaker at a base price of $300. The base price includes
two fonts, the complete application and the EPS export function.
Additional fonts range in price between $100 and $300 per font.
