Truevision VideoMaker+ for the Macintosh
Turns Computer Into A Video Production Suite

INDIANAPOLIS (October 19, 1992) -- With the release of its new
video-production software, VideoMaker+ for the Macintosh, Truevision,
Inc., now offers users a cost-effective and easy-to-use tool for
maximizing the power of its NuVista+ graphics engine.

Designed for video productions and multimedia presentations, VideoMaker+
offers broadcast-quality capabilities, including wipes, blends, true
blue-matte keying, plus full compatibility with Apple Computer, Inc.'s
QuickTime software.

Professional quality results

"This full-featured software turns a Macintosh II or Macintosh Quadra into
an online video production suite," says Dennis Collins, marketing services
manager for Truevision. "VideoMaker+ for the Macintosh is a powerful
plug-and-play solution for desktop video production on the Macintosh. With
the new Macintosh Duo Dock, you can use your Macintosh Powerbook to create
desktop video presentations."

Broadcast Quality Transitions

VideoMaker+ uses the power of the NuVista+ to perform broadcast-quality
transitions, including wipes, pushes, video-to-graphics,
graphics-to-graphics and graphics-to-video. The software also supports
NuVista+ key effects, including digital chroma keying and digital linear
keying, plus frame capture.

VideoMaker+ takes full advantage of the Macintosh interface, providing
simple point-and-click mouse commands that are easy to learn. Separate
frame buffers allow the program to hold two images in memory for easy
access.

QuickTime Features

Live video can be combined with computer-generated graphics, including
QuickTime animations.

"VideoMaker+ for the Macintosh seamlessly integrates QuickTime movies into
video," Collins adds. "An excellent application of this technology would
be to overlay a QuickTime animation, such as a flying logo, on top of live
video."

In addition to its superior video production capabilities, VideoMaker+ for
the Macintosh easily creates eye-catching multimedia presentations. Users
can tap into its still-store/slide organizer to synchronize scripted
presentations without having to struggle with the system software
hierarchy.

System requirements

VideoMaker+ for the Macintosh is designed for all Truevision NuVista+
graphics engines. The software requires System 7.0 and 4 MB of system
memory. VideoMaker+ is available immediately and has a suggested retail
price of $295 (U.S. domestic list price, single-quantity purchases).

The Truevision NuVista+ is the only single-slot graphics engine on the
Macintosh platform that offers sophisticated video production features
such as digital chroma keying and digital linear keying. In addition, the
board integrates a composite (NTSC or PAL) and SVideo (Super VHS, ED Beta)
encoder/decoder at no additional charge. The NuVista+ base model
configuration is priced at $2,995 and has 1 MB of VRAM. The board can be
upgraded to 2 MB or 4 MB of VRAM.

Truevision, Inc., offers a full range of videographics products for
broadcast-quality desktop video production covering both the Macintosh and
IBM platforms. The company pioneered the videographics industry in 1984
and today remains one of the market and technology leaders.
