EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY

Statement concerning Photo CD system
------------------------------------

Kodak owns patents and copyrights for many aspects of the Photo CD system
and Photo CD-compatible software. In all likelihood, software
independently developed to retrieve and display Photo CD images will
infringe on one or more of the applicable patents.

Reading and reproducing an image from a Kodak Photo CD disc is a complex
process. Accurate reproduction of an image requires more than just data
decoding. Other sophisticated processes are involved, such as matrixing
and color balancing.

Kodak provides several routes for individuals and companies to access
Photo CD images. These include:

Inexpensive Kodak Photo CD Access software for Windows
    and Mac systems

Kodak PhotoEdge image editing software for Windows
    systems

    Kodak Renaissance page design software

For software developers and computer systems manufacturers wanting to
incorporate access to Photo CD images into their products, Kodak offers
two options:

Kodak Photo CD Access developers toolkit, available now
for Windows and Mac systems, and soon to be available
    for DOS and UNIX systems

Direct support for unique situations, such as global
read and display licenses on numerous existing
    platforms, offered through other vendors

Kodak recommends that people wanting more information on these products
contact their local Kodak company. In the U.S.A., Kodak maintains an
information service that can be reached by calling 800-242-2424, ext. 53,
or 716-724-1021, ext. 53.
