Network Software Associates Announces Full Suite of SNA Client Software
Products For Use With Novell NetWare For SAA.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA, October 6, 1992--With a new NetWare interface for the
3270/ElitePlus emulator and a new family of NetWare-compatible 5250
emulators, Network Software Associates, Inc. (NSA) today launched a full
suite of client software products for PC-to-host connectivity on NetWare
Local Area Networks (LANs) Running NetWare for SAA. NetWare for SAA is
Novell's premier LAN-to-host connectivity tool. The following PC client
software products from NSA now fully support NetWare 3.11 LANs with
NetWare for SAA:

* 3270/ElitePlus
  (for 3270 PC-to-mainframe communications under DOS).
* DynaComm/Elite
  (for 3270 PC-to-mainframe communications under Windows).
* Elite/400 (for 5250 PC-to-AS/400 communications under Windows).
* Elite/400 DSP (for 5250 PC-to-AS/400 communications under
  Windows without the need for IBM PCS/400 software).

"NetWare for SAA is a flexible server popular with many of our SNA
enterprise network clientele," said Raymond Chan, NSA's vice president of
business development. "As an active member of Novell's Professional
Developer's Program and their Independent Manufacturers Support Program,
we have been working closely with Novell in developing the link drivers
required for our PC software clients to function cooperatively with their
server."

PC-to-MAINFRAME CONNECTIVITY

For DOS PC clients communicating with IBM mainframe systems, NSA today
announced a new link driver for 3270/ElitePlus allowing communications
through NetWare for SAA. This new driver will be offered as a standard
feature of version 2.2, available for customer shipment on November 15,
1992.

3270/ElitePlus emulates an IBM 3278 display station with one or two 3287
printers. The low-memory emulator uses as little as 77K for a single
session, with support for up to five concurrent sessions. "Memory
utilization is a very important consideration," said Mr. Chan. "Many PC
users are not able to run large DOS-based applications because of the
presence of memory-intensive 3270 emulators."

For Windows clients, NSA offers DynaComm/Elite version 3.3, available for
immediate delivery. This Windows based multi-session emulator provides
support for 3270 mainframe connectivity.

Both of these emulators now offer complete support for the Service Naming
and SNA Logical Unit (LU) Pooling Features of NetWare for SAA. With these
driver implementations, the NSA client products are fully integrated into
the NetWare for SAA environment.

"NSA's Elite product line is an excellent example of how vendors can
leverage NetWare for SAA to provide NetWare customers with a wide range of
LAN-to-IBM host connectivity options," said Bernard Harguindeguy, director
of product marketing for Novell's NetWare Systems Group, Sunnyvale. "In
addition, customers are assured of complete NetWare integration and can
now take advantage of NetWare's performance, security, name services and
network management features."

PC-TO-AS/400 CONNECTIVITY

For PC-to-AS/400 connectivity, NSA recently unveiled its new Elite/400
family of communications software, including Elite/400 and Elite/400 DSP,
available for customer delivery starting October 1. Both offer full
NetWare for SAA connectivity.

Elite/400 is a 5250 client that allows Windows PCs to access applications
and data on AS/400 servers. Elite/400 builds upon the capabilities of the
IBM PC Support/400 (PCS/400) software, providing display emulation,
printer emulation, and a file transfer facility.

Elite/400 DSP is a lower-cost Windows client. When used with NetWare for
SAA, it is the only Windows PC-to-AS/400 solution that does not require
the overhead of PCS/400 on the host or the PC. Elite/400 DSP eliminates
the need for PCS/400 through its Display Station Pass-through (DSP)
implementation.

"NetWare users often install AS/400s as application servers while using
NetWare for remote file access, email, and other LAN services", said Russ
Herkberg, NSA's director of product marketing. "Elite/400 DSP with NetWare
for SAA delivers AS/400 application access, retains the benefits of
NetWare services, and removes the system overhead and administrative
burden of PCS/400."

NSA has also announced its new Elite/400 LAN Gateway, a cost- effective
LAN-to-AS/400 gateway server especially useful for LANs running
entry-level Novell systems such as NetWare 2.X or NetWare Lite. The
Elite/400 LAN Gateway supports both NSA and third-party PC clients.

PRICING

Single copy prices for NSA's client software products are as follows:
DynaComm/Elite ($495), 3270/ElitePlus ($395), Elite/400 ($395), and
