INTECOLOR INTRODUCES RUGGED 14-INCH PANELMOUNT WORKSTATION

ATLANTA (October 19, 1992) -- Intecolor Corporation has introduced the
control industry's first 14-inch industrial Workstation with an integrated
industrial display. The WS-14 Workstation provides eight card slots on a
passive backplane and resolutions ranging from 640 x 480 to 1024 x 768
non-interlaced. In addition, the unit features a sealed door for front
access to the floppy drive, a keyboard port and an optional communications
port.

The Workstation is NEMA 4/12-rated, which protects the unit against water
and dust. It is designed to withstand extremes in temperatures, shock and
vibration.

The WS-14 Workstation incorporates Intecolor's new proprietary single-board
monitor design which requires less power, generates less heat and delivers
a higher mean time between failure (MTBF). Because fewer components are
required, the design is more reliable than similar products with
multiple-boards.

In addition, the Intecolor display is manufactured in the United States and
meets vigorous industrial standards. Other manufacturers typically use
repackaged office-grade displays inside an industrial enclosure.

"Our customers required a 14-inch Workstation with higher resolution, more
card slot options for expandability and a more reliable monitor," said
David Deans, president of Intecolor. "We designed a single unit that meets
all of these needs, while maintaining a small footprint."

The AT-compatible Workstation features a self-contained, slide-in computer
module that is accessible from the rear, simplifying maintenance and card
expansion. The chassis includes a rugged auto-ranging power supply to
accommodate a range of electrical requirements, an 80MB hard drive and a
3.5 inch 1.44MB floppy drive.

Standard specifications include a 386SX 20 MHz processor with one MB of
RAM. 386DX 33, 486DX 33, 486DX 2/66, up to 32 MB of RAM, hard drives up to
400 MB and other optional accessories are available.

A standard configuration provides a 33-key keypad and 10 function keys (7U
size), or 20 function keys (9U size). Single unit pricing begins at $7,995
for the 7U panel Workstation, and $8,195 for the 9U panel Workstation.
Both models are currently available.

Founded in 1973, Intecolor is a leading manufacturer of human-machine
interface systems for the industrial control industry's complete line of
industrial Workstations, monitors and terminals is available in a wide
range of enclosures and resolutions.
